AYRLA Certifies 6 New Coaches Ahead of Fall Season

The American Youth Rugby League Association held a flag coaching course this past Sunday, headed by Robin Peers. The basics of Coaching and Planning were taught geared to a flag competition. Each coach received a custom book containing drill and skill building exercises as well. Six coaches attended the 9am Sunday session, held at the Providence Afterschool Alliance Building. This course serves a pre-cursor to a full coaching course AYRLA is looking to deliver prior to the High School Competition Kicking off this Spring.

The Fall Middle School Competition will run for 10 weeks starting September 30th.

We owe alot to the Providence After School Alliance for opening their doors to us on a Sunday morning and letting us use their resources. However they are committed to good programming and are happy to see us strive to make ours second to none. They have confidence in us to continue to make introductions to other similar programs in other states. Hopefully we can be in a position to take advantage of that to expand beyond the RI.

Ridiculous numbers at Esek Hopkins yesterday, our Rugby League Program is 150% enrolled. 35 kids are signed up and registered we will probably stop accepting kids when we hit 40.
(Also please note we are competing with Basketball. That means we are really doing a great job! Props to the coaches!!!)
