Yeah I'm going
Will be seeing the living end for the first time in 4 and a bit years, should be good to see again, hopefully plenty or older stuff is played.
Probably watch Neil Young

Best band on the lineup(by some margin) is Dropkick Murphys, them playing from 11 till midnight is sh*t, because i need to find a way to get home after than (i dont think there is any alterations to the timetable for the trains which is f**king dumb), hopefully get a train to strathfield and get home from there via parent but who knows.

I'm going.

Anyone looked at the timetable?? There is only 4-5 bands I want to see and they still managed to make most of them clash.

No matter though. I just go for the cheese on a stick anyway

how do you think the kids will react to neil young? it'll be interesting

terrible lineup. sydney in particular is so flooded with festivals these days i think they are struggling to compete like they used to for bands

I am not going this year, first time in yonks. Crap line up, Neil Young is great but besides him and the living end nothing really interest's me. Last year i only went for Rage.

Soundwave yet again kicks the BDO a$$..............I dont mind Neil Young but for gods sake, he is not a headline act for a music festival.........maybe the Woodford Folk fest but not a BDO.

Lamb Of God, Alice in Chains, NIN, Lacuna Coil, In Flames, All That Remains, Unearth now there are some bands worth watchin..........too bad there are a couple of clashes but meh, still $hits over the Big Gay Out.

Had a ticket, but work came down with an iron fist at the last minute.

Was only really keen for My Morning Jacket and TV OTR.

AIC ... I just can't do it without Layne.

In Flames are great though.

Layne was unique, and I loved his voice but watch the unplugged DVD, he was a mess and really brought that whole band down towards the end. I wish they would have stepped in and done something about it like dragged his sorry ass to a rehab center, but they didnt..........i really want to see what this new singer is like, Layne had a unique voice, but he wasnt exaclty irreplaceable vocal wise. Just my opinion.

The set is quite well balanced from what I hear. Didn't catch their last national tour but it was fairly well mixed. Saw them play as the Longnecks about 5 times earlier this year where they did nothing but new stuff with "West End Riot" and "second Solution" thrown in as encores

Agreed. But why don't you just go to their Metro show? I'm going to the Billboard show in Melbourne on the 28th. Will be my 5th Murphys experience!

I haven't been to Big Day Out for years. Lost it's appeal with me sadly.

I'm attending the Gold Coast Big Day Out with four of my mates so it should be a nice experience no matter what the line up. With that said, I'm looking forward to it more than I did last year.

My current plans...

Sparkadia
Children Collide
Birds of Tokyo
TZU

Intermission

Cog
Black Kids
TV On the Radio
My Morning Jacket
The Living End
Artic Monkeys
Neil Young
Prodigy

I beg to differ - he was about as irreplaceable as a singer can possibly get. He was the sound of AIC. He cannot be replaced and I refuse to watch AIC without him.

He was certainly f**ked up by the end and they tried to fix it but tragically he ran out of time.
