Yeah, Qatar. That's the only time PV has gotten anything out of this squad besides utter dross.

We will be going to South Africa and thats all well and good, but we will not be playing the likes of f**king Qatar when we get there. I shudder to think about the sh*t we will dish up once we are there.

You will not here any arguments about getting results from me, but there is a difference when we are talking about the calibre of teams that we're currently playing.

The ultimate goal is to have the team as prepared as possible to do as well as possible in 2010. If we're going to make it to the WC and then pull out 2008 Olyroos type performances. I'd probably rather we didn't qualify at all.

IMO the World Cup will be a massive wake up call for this team.

I do think you are being a bit harsh.. Bahrain made it a very difficult game this morning, most teams would have had troubles with them and the pitch and the conditions..

Was a comanding win against Qatar and a good win in similar conditions as we saw this morning against Uzbec..

Japan next will be a good test..

to his credit, they also played very well against the Dutch.

So a handful of games out of how many, that have seen performances across the scale rate above average? The rest has simply been absolute crap.

Maybe I'm being harsh, but IMO Verbeek will not get us anywhere come 2010. Not entirely his fault either as I don't think we have much talent coming through, but ultimately he'll be responsible for questionable tactics and player selection.

That's all well and good, and most definitely better than watching Arnold's sh*t AND losing football. But I want to enjoy watching sport and I have to admit that last night was the earliest I've fallen asleep in a week. The game literally put me to sleep.

sorry but results come before performance ... go watch slam ball if you want constant non stop action

The problem is, I, and others will do just that. Which means football goes back to where it was a few years ago.

Not enough people give a sh*t about football in Aus. Sure we all play it when we're younger, but we go home and watch league or afl (depending on where we live) and spend our weeks thinking about our clubs sides.

If it's interesting enough to turn up to every now and then, when our half decent players come back from overseas, then football will have a place in the market. Otherwise it will be back to 4 figure crowds with no one giving a sh*t.

well you do that ... but when australia make the world cup again you'll come crawling back

Most will. If we don't win a game, which is likely playing this football, the 4 years in between cups will be very different than it has been this time.

Most supporters are rather stupid... but their watching the sh*t we've dished up lately won't last forever.

If "real" fans are on here saying it's boring and sh*te, what is the casual punter going to think.
