An MRI scan today has put an end to St.George Bank Dragons Test prop Luke Bailey's season, revealing that his torn left chest muscle (pectoral) will require surgery.

Bailey, 24, who was injured in yesterday's loss to Manly, will see a specialist this week to confirm when he will have surgery.

In other injury news, captain Trent Barrett (hamstring), Ben Hornby (quad) and Nathan Long (knee) have been cleared to play this Saturday against the Bulldogs at WIN Stadium; while Lance Thompson (shoulder muscle strain) will face a fitness test later in the week but is considered likely to play; and Nathan Blacklock (hamstring) has been ruled out.

Yeah well. The depth is going to tested. As it did last year... and the year before that....

Yeah, why do the Dragons suffer long term injuries to key players, I just start to think we are so unlucky, it's so damn frustrating and very depressing.

I can't help but curse our luck, I'm so annoyed, just as things were starting to look good.............Every game I watch (Dragons) I fear for a key players suffering a long term injury.

Has anyone been going to those Red Vee forums over the last year or two??

Didn't Doust say that the club had a major review / audit of training & treatment of injuries to prevent the massive injury list Saints have each year, so much so that the all-important after match function was pushed back an hour or somethng??

Cheers lads, yeah she's been a while. I sort of drifted in here each week but didn't post anything for quite a few months.
I would have had Southernsaints avatar but two different 'Norms' is fitting for the great man.
