PL have the bye but the flegg team to take on illawarra this week is

1. Simon GREALLY
2. John NASH
3. David PANGAI
4. Sam WARA
5. Jermaine ALBERTS
6. Dean CALDWELL
7. Jamie NOWLAND
8. Brock HUNTER
9. Ranald SCHULZ
10. Mick HARPER
11. David GOWER
12. Bryan DICKSON
13. Franco KMET

14 Nathan LAVERS
15 Dave MARANDO
16 Tim TOBIN
17 Luke THOMPSON
18 Sean MORRIS
19 Jamie GRANT

A strong side - its great to see thomo back and I really can't find a weakness in that starting 13. I feel sorry for Dave Marando who by all accounts had a top game last week and didn't deserve to be benched but I can't argue with the decision to play greally in flegg while PL aren't playing - he's a class above and will be a huge boost to the team even if its just for a week.

We're entrenched in the top 4 now but are going to need some real work on our for/against to overtake penrith for third. Its a friday night game at Leichhardt this week starting at 7.30 so I'd urge everyone to get out to the game if they can.

That really is a formidable line up. They've been playing very well of late so confidence obviously sky high, another 2 points here.........i hope.

I would really like to see them get up by a very big margin tonight!!!!!!

The Backline is the best it could get I think and well the forwards really arn't far behind them ( maybe when Thommo gets fit replace him with Gower)

I think that in PL we will finish in the top 4 but I guess looking at that side on how many of those kids will actually be given the chance to play in PL and who knows even in first grade!

The best thing about that side though is that there is no Chapman!!!!!!

no probs :)

Looking forward to getting out there tonight - everyone should try and make an effort to see this team go round when they get the chance, there are some hugely talented kids in there and it makes you feel fantastic about the future of the wests tigers

especially when you consider the fact that theres some pretty hot young players in the magpies flegg team as well :D

Don't worry - when they play us I'll be happily stating that they should all give the game away cause they're all useless ;-)

Your starting to sound like those kids yelling out "are we there yet, are we there yet"

Tickets are $5

Grandstand has no charges to sit in it

I think its only the Flegg game being played as well

Balmain won 42-20

The score was 22-4 at Half time and to be honest the boys really should have won by at least 50!!!!

There where 2 changes to the line up with Robbie Farrah (Shultz went to the bench) and Damien Braumman (replaced Dean Caldwell who is playing for NSW under 17's)

Tries scorers where

Alberts 2, Kmet 2, Greally, Nowland, Pangai, Wara

Whilst Nowland kicked 5 from 8

Greally was really the main standout and caused nothing but problems all night, he really did show that he is a mile above Flegg, but in saying that he did at times take the wrong option after he did carve the side up (which he did at will!!)

Farrah wasn't a stand out but he did make a few half breaks and managed to set up at least 2 Balmain tries.

Kmet was strong and looks like he is getting back to his best, the props from our side where both quite whilst Thommo and Dicko had good games up front.

The boys when they switched on looked like they could be the team to beat the Roosters his year however also I should add they did go to sleep at various stages of the match which I am sure Jamie Sheppard would be worried about!!

Over all it was a good win for the boys, it cements the top 4 spot and adds some much needed for and against to their total

I think thats right, our last lost was the narrow loss against the Roosters - That really could well be a taste of what will come in this years GF

Geez that Jermaine Alberts is scoring some tries! How did the two young centres go last night? Is Jamie Nowland a genuine halfback or a manufactured one?

Alberts would have to be close to becoming the leading try scorer of the comp, he really does have some amazing speed and with Wara on the inside of him the really do compliment and make an awesome attacking combination out wide

Wara and Pangai played ok! There defence really went missing and it looked like Wara had been pulled aside during the week and told to just make tackles with the shulder as he really didn't look good at all in defence but ball in hand he was dangerous on the limited chances he did have with the ball.

Pangai to be honest I thought was dissapointing he scored an opportunist try and in attack really didn't do much at all whilst in defence he did go missing a few times (more so than Wara)

On Nowland I think it is far too early to tell about him to be honest, I always thought that he could actually play 1st grade at Fullback or maybe even on the Wing because he does have speed to burn but his left ankle is causing all sorts of problems for him at the moment.

I personally wouldn't put him at Halfback I think if I had to put him in the halves it would be at 5/8th because he really dosn't organise well and it would appear of late he has forgotten how to pass the ball out wide as well, but speaking to Jamie Sheppard he assured me that you want the ball as much as possible in his hands so maybe if his ankles get better soon we might see what they are all talking about.

I should also add Nowland appears to have been named the Flegg boys captain for the year
