Barba got off a gaol sentence and at the same time announced that he is going to play in Spain for the Valencia Hurricanes.
Anyone who knows Spain as well as I, and the Valencia area extra well, will know that place is the gateway to nose-beer central.
He won't be given leniency there, I foresee major drama. I mean that's not such hard bet, Barba and drama go hand in hand any where.

Former NRL star Ben Barba has escaped criminal conviction after assaulting his brother-in-law and is set to take up an offer to play professional rugby league in Spain.
Barba was remanded in custody overnight earlier this week after being involved in a brawl with his brother-in-law, Adrian
The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm, breaching bail conditions and failing to complete a community service order.
The incident, which was captured on CCTV, occurred on February 22 at McGuires Pub. The
Courier Mail reports Barba punched Currie in the head after Currie had called him a “woman basher” after a previous argument.
A number of NRL stars reportedly wrote to the court in support of Barba’s character including Manly halfback Daly Cherry-Evans and Cowboys fullback Valentine Holmes, as well as Titans coach Justin Holbrook.
Barba was sacked by the Cowboys before the 2019 season kick off after allegations he physically assaulted his partner at a Townsville Casino.
He is hopeful of another shot at his once glittering rugby league career. A criminal conviction would have hindered that.
“He is a young Indigenous man with a lot of talent who certainly is hoping to further his career in rugby league,” Barba’s lawyer Campbell Maccallum said.
“Whether that be in Spain or Australia or in the Super League competition.”
“(A conviction) would have impeded his progress to Spain and certainly travel overseas.
“There’s a clause in the contract which does say if a NRL club or Super League approaches him with a contract, that they will release him immediately.”
