Barba sacked by Cowboys

We can’t really talk though.
We threw big money at Lodge and Pearce still remains on our books and is likely to be made our sole captain this year.

No issue with either of them being sacked and derigistered though. What about you?

Someone has to have the balls to do it and set some basic standards for players employed by the game. The NRL register the contracts so someone there needs to show some LEADERSHIP.

There are signs that Newcastle and now NQLD are upping the ante with the J Saifiti fine and now the Barba sacking.

Greenburger has talked the talk for years so we all wait to see if there will be any action by him in the near future.

He’s been sacked!

Today, North Queensland Cowboys terminated the playing contract of Ben Barba due to a significant breach of the terms of his contract.

Chairman Laurence Lancini stated: “When a player joins the North Queensland Cowboys he agrees to abide by the terms of the contract. After an internal investigation, it has been determined that this player has acted in contradiction to both the terms and the spirit of that agreement. Accordingly, the club has terminated his contract and has informed the NRL’s Integrity Unit.”

With luck he's played his last game of Rugby League.
No doubt a union club will take him on thinking they can sort him out, but the guy is beyond help

J Saifiti will struggle to make our 17.
Easy to make an example of him.
You keep talking about leadership..
What are we doing by rewarding Pearce and making him sole captain this year?
What are we doing by throwing big $$$ at a lowlife like Lodge?

Like positive peptide tests?

It is going to be the height of inconsistency to have Toddles draw his new imaginary line in the sand, after those of us over the age of 20 have seen other players literally lose it all, over nothing but media headlines and NRL knee jerk over false claims and media beat-ups.

Already answered this.

You didn't answer my question though Wooshka.

LEADERSHIP comes from the top Wooshka- Greenburger.

LEADERSHIP comes from the top Wooshka- Greenburger.

Leadership at the club comes from the ceo and the coach.
Clubs need to stop signing these merkins.
Greenburger isn’t the one making Pearce our sole captain this year.

Manly fan who can't get over it alert.

If that is meant to be an insult, I wear it with pride.

Face of the League, falsely accused, thrown under the bus by the NRL, despite his club standing firm behind him, with the NRL boss being one of the leading influence on the court of public opinion, due to a playing ban.

Fast foward a decade and character references are now being written by the NRL boss for self admitted drunk drivers, to help avoid conviction and loss of licence.

Seems legit.

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the definition of victim complex.

Only if he was pissed when he allegedly bashed her, then drove straight home.
So if the Broncs or chooks need him on their roster, which one will rehabilitate him better/sooner ?

Neither, as neither will look to sign him. Remember, the Broncos had him for 1 year and they moved him on.

My club? Don't need a fullback nor the headache of Barba's baggage.

Again, happy for him to be sacked and deregistered when the next f**k up occurs. The NRL signs off on the contracts.

And that could have been done while he was at the Roosters, but wasn't.

You haven't answered my question again iqaz.

No wonder the likes of Moga and J Saifiti have been playing up.
No leadership at the club.
You can’t blame Greenburger for that.

What did he do wrong at the roosters?

Can you inform us all about what Pearce has been up to please?

Deregister him for what?

He broke exactly one law, refusing to leave a bar when directed to.

Bringing the game into disrepute, I think they call it. Doesn't need to involve breaking the civil law, as he found out.
