Packer went to jail for his crime. I'm happy to have him return. He seems to have grown up now. Lodge did 12 months in the Qld Cup and has a huge damages award hanging over his head. I'm OK with him playing the game too. Both were a single incident. Barba has a string of them, but he should be allowed to play in England after a suitable suspension, if anyone will have him.

Lodge had a history of domestic violence before his New York disgrace. It was not a one off incident. Packer from what I know didn’t and he went to prison and served his time. Lodge didn’t serve any time and hasn’t paid any compensation to his victims. What Packer did was disgraceful but Lodge was far worse.

I just personally believe anybody that commits violent assaults against women, members of the public, violently invades somebody’s home, kicks doors in, says “this is the night you’re gonna die” and assaults police shouldn’t be allowed in our game. Only the worst people hurt an entire family, police and especially children. Normal people don’t do that.

I'm not taking his side but I believe I read he has paid (or organised) compensation to the vicitims.

The Sharks handled him better than anyone. Clearly he plays his best when allowed to do whatever he wants away from the club. At the broncos he was on a motsa and f**ked it up. Almost understandable. At the cows on a pittance compared to the broncs contract he still f**ks up. Incredible. Also very disappointing as a fan who just wanted to see the merkin play at the top again.

Clearly the Broncos had Barba on a tight cubicle... I mean leash to stop him from misbehaving. Even moreso considering the quality investigative journalism on display at the courier mail. They have a history of exposing Broncos players.

Lodge is the luckiest man alive. He should have got a big stretch in jail for his crime, but Toddy looked him in the eyes and said mate we are going to give you a chance. Frankly it made the NRL alaughing stock

Then why did the broncos launch him?
Like I have already stated he plays his best under the circumstances you alledge.

He did have a great season though. A blues jersey is very possible. Will you still have the same opinion then?

Because he was playing like garbage.
I'm just poking fun at you for implying that Broncos has a better culture off field than other clubs. Their ability to cover shit up is second only to the AFL.

Regardless of what a shit merkin Barba may be, the time for Toddles to draw a line in the sand was before this incident and not in relation to any other incident in particular.

That is the difference between proactive and reactive, and the fact remains that if Barba is rubbed out of the game due to a Toddles now stated position, it will be for a retrospective rule change, and that is no way to apply a just punishment, nor is it any where near best practice as far as administering an organisation goes.

Because he didn't perform. Plain & simple. no other reason.

Well I can think of one...
