Barba

If the Sharks have torn up Barba's contract it's safe to assume he is no longer a registered player with the NRL right?

Therefore, he can't be suspended from any games. If he gets offered a $300k contract it will be subject to NRL approval yada, yada and he may be registered. Then he can be suspended.

People with more knowledge about how it works have probably figured this out but I'm baffled how a non NRL player can be suspended. Just as Ennis and Marika couldn't be suspended for any GF indiscretions because they were retiring or leaving the game.

From outside the box as usual

Frenzy.
As he was tested and found positive when he was an NRL player they will enforce the 12 week suspension if he decides to play in the NRL again. There is an article in todays SMH how he can actually play in the Super League as the suspension doesn't carry over there. I'll find it.

Here it is:

The trouble with these right royal pharkers like greenberg is they make it up to please themselves.
BB has stepped out the room but they will find any reason which suits them to not let him back in.

Like Feefs....public opinion. Common sense. Lack of a charge.
Who cares.
We own the game.
Youre pharked.

True...one would argue if a NEW contract is drawn up can it be registered with an initial 12 game ban.
Its a new contract...not binding to an old one.

He'd be a moron to try use any loophole to get back without a suspension.

He's already mentally weak , imagine a full blown anti Barba media campaign.

Pffftt

He'll probably come back a changed man, re-sign with the sharks for less than he was on before the season starts and be good to go in round 10.

Exactly my point. If he's not registered he can't be suspended for the first 12 weeks. He'll have to get contracted, registered and then serve the 12 weeks. So logic says anyway.

Seems like a straw clutch actually

if its 12 game suspension, does the NRL use same policy as when suspended for foul play do trial matches count and also WCC

Id like to know how the Daily Telegraph can run with a headline saying "I am not a Drug Addict" in massive bold, black font across the page. Complete with a photo of Barbs along side it. Yet Barbs had left the country long before anyone, especially the media knew anything about it? Surely that has to be borderline defamation or something along those lines??? He wouldn't have given them any info.

As crazy as it may sounds.

Do you think Barba was a set up?

Was he an easy target?

On $800 per year but the Broncos been paying most of it but not next year.

Two players were signed immediately after the positive.
