I thought the guy was milking it and took a dive and a half.

Pretty pathetic but he'll be charged.

Cat Maguire will probably come forward and give evidence and say, he played up contact in attempt to get a freekick

Lets hope so, but i doubt it. If it happens though theres almost no way they could keep the charge.

Exactly. The thing about this is that nobody knows if he was playing up to it or not, nobody saw the actual contact. So for the tribunal to grade the offence they must be "guessing" what the contact was like. Any fair system would say "we cannot see the contact so therefore he is innocent untill proven guilty".

Maguire should come forward like any real man would and say that he was going for the academy award. The contact wouldnt have knocked over my grandma. If they are going to make Bazza miss the grandfinal for that shart it would be an absolute joke.

Lets put the best teams on the field and may the better team win. Would only be depramental to the quality of the game to suspend him for something so fricken pathetic as that crap.

Apparently it is a grade 2 he is charged with. Come forward Maquire and show some nuts ya girls blouse, the bloke should be playing soccer......

Anyway, what will happen from here is that They will put together video footage of other incidents this year that went unpunished like Chris Judds.

The only way Hall can get off is by arguing the charge down to 'Negligent' - & i fail to see how they can legitimately argue it was an accident. When they allow Hall to downgrade his charge it is going to set a very strong precedent for the future.

If then unsucsessfull they will go to the high court of Australia, which will not see the case before the GF so the AFL will have no option but to let him play or risk facing a massive massive compensation pay out if they find Barry is aloud to play.

The High Court - LOL You Rugby League wankers might like to settle sporting scores in the courts ... In Melbourne we do things differently, dead set a total bunch of inbred, self righteous wankers... Both states.

Get over it you Northern Dogs, players have missed Grand Finals in the past and will continue to miss.

If the Tribunal upholds the charges (I don't beleive they will - I'm still positive he'll play) then Hall deserves to miss the Grand Final, exactly the same as the other 30 players in the 110 year history of the comp have.

Heard an interview on the radio this morning from a reporter who spoke to Maguire at the Brownlow last night..... indicated that Maguire will testify that contact was negligible and he believed without any intended malice (normally wouldn't have caused any problem....just the normal nigggle that goes on in play) but it just caught him 'in the wrong spot'.

If that is presented, I think the tribunal will have to agree to a downgraded charge....Hall will plead guilty and play on the weekend.

Just on Maguire going down......the reporter did make it clear that he wasn't milking a free. For anybody that has experienced somebody catching you in the solar plexus ( http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/s1/solarple.asp ) it can drop you like a sack of potatoes even with minimal contact if you hit the right spot.

Anyway, my first contribution to the boards.....I think you'll probably have to put up with more #-o

No sour grapes mate, just because our state is is still in the footy finals in both codes and we will have a team in both grand finals.

Its just that Victorians can't play footy, you just need to get over it.

Could he possibly miss a grand final over that?
Thats no where near a Grand final worthy suspension

What ever the dudes name is. What a whimp!

Knowing the Melbourne AFL hierarchy though they will slap him with a 9 week suspension like they did to poor Fui Fui

How wrong can you be, One eye.
