Battle for the wooden spoon

The mergers of the late 90s really did create powerhouse clubs
I don't think mergers have anything to do with it, who did Newcastle merge with to cop 3 wooden spoons in a row some 7 years back, what about the Bronx a few seasons ago, or Bulldogs in '21, or eels in '18...
Its just a co incidence that this season both are fighting to not get that dreaded spoon... its always down to front office, yes there's warring factions at board level, but those clubs i mentioned ALL have had those factions, not just the 2 merger clubs..
Get rid of Pascoe, and the tigers will rise, maybe back to 9th (tehe)
Dragons just need flano in there asap, theyve got a team that do damage, just not used right, why is ben hunt playing hooker at rep level but cant do it at club level, he should be a benny elias or cameron smith type controlling hooker, id be punting lomax off the team, find a better centre or a better converter of the trys coz he is woeful.. and those random flick passes fmd... the dragons have had many games at the 1st half of this year near losses by a few points, had lomax just got those he missed theyd be vying for finals with the rest of the fodder

Dragons NSW cup side did a real number on Newtown yesterday. Switch teams and see what happens.
What could be worse?

Big difference between thumping newtown, in grade and playing against the 1st grade raiders next week

Dragons, Tigers and Dogs all putting strong cases forward this round.

Dragons and Dogs have a bye up their sleeve, over the Tigers, but it will be a close run spoon battle.

Roosters, Knights and Eagles are surely safe from entering the depths of these contenders.

Some teams really starting to put some special efforts together. Bulldogs were extremely impressive today. Pressure was on after the Tigers outstanding performance yesterday evening and they responded well.

It will all come down to the final few rounds. The winner will just want it more.

Yeah I think it’s a three horse race at this point, appropriate as the horses are all on three legs, and blind as well

Knights v Tigers has a lot riding on it.

The Tigers are huge favourites for the spoon and rightly so. But a loss for the Knights here could really kickstart their season and secure their place in the bottom 4.

Dragons v Tigers in a battle that could very well decide the wooden spoon. The Dragons have named a strong line up. It will be close but I think they'll be a bit too classy for the Tigers.

Dragons by 2. Zac Lomax MOM for missing a goal to tie it up.

There’s a certain glorious feline symmetry to the Panthers and Tigers occupying both ends of the table for consecutive seasons.

With the Tigers now 4 points below the Dragons and the Bulldogs on the ladder, it looks like they will "win" another wooden spoon. I know there's still a few weeks to go, so things can change.
