We will get more people to games by taking the show out of Cronulla.

Sad but true.

For the loyal locals who turn up to games regularly I applaud you. But there just hasn’t been enough support there over the last few years. Crowds for some matches at Shark Park with the talent in this current side have been pathetic.

I think someone said half of the membership live outside of Cronulla so there is scope to take games to other venues out of the area and get some decent numbers of support.

What a shame the SFS is getting rebuilt at the same time because that venue for me would be a no brainer. Any game we have ever had there has always attracted strong support.

The Club should definitely look at financial incentives some venues will offer . Because cashflow for the Club whilst the Club is getting rebuilt is going to be strained. (What else is new??) Bankwest for at least one match is a must against Parramatta. Definitely will get fans to checkout the new stadium and get lots of Parra fans.

The Club can also organise buses for Cronulla locals to get to some of these venues.

We're kinda f**ked with this...whatever we do, we essentially signal that our specific territory isn't required for a comp going forward. Bankwest: data shows Cronulla can successfully play in western suburbs and brand can be adapted/diluted. Kogarah/WIN: Sutherland, Wollongong, St George regions can be merged.

We're gonna give NRL the data it needs to justify a merger or relocation imo.

I guess thats the downside risk.. Just hope that the sharks brainstrust has a wizzbang plan for the future to make sure sharks games are a "must do" for locals, business and relatives visitors, and tourists as an integral part of the shire experience..

The rest of the membership would be spread everywhere so that doesn’t really work.

I would think the next biggest support area would probably be the Illawarra... but even then it’s a way smaller base than the shire.

Ask for dispensation to play our first 5 games at home in return for taking the remaining to PNG, Fiji, Darwin, Perth, Coffs Harbor & Tonga
Yeah but I don't think the NRL or the sponsors would be happy. They'd have to bend the rules and I don't think the NRL would allow the Sharks to be the travelling wilburys

The only rules being bent are the first 5 games are at home, same as Broncos get every year. Then hitting the road for the other 8 would jsut mean playing Sydney clubs at their ground & or PNG, Fiji etc, that the NRL is desperately trying to push in to.

I vaguely remember us playing a season like that in the 90s when stadium works were being done?
Maybe the ET stand or even the concourse?

Seems sensible to me.

I love the idea in the theory, but I don't think our medical staff would be too keen on all the unecessary flying. The more the players are near their homes and the club's med facilities through minor injuries the better.

I'd think local (Kogarah/WIN and a couple of travelling home games, Fiji, regional) for now

The only home game not worth taking to another Sydney Club is Manly, becaue we never win.
Roosters, Souths, St George, Tigers, Penrith , PArra
There's 6 & they would be good earners for us.
Melbourne take to PNG, as far as far can possible.
Raiders take to Tamworth
Broncos take to Fiji
Nth QLD take to Darwin
Gold Coast take to Coffs Harbour
Thats 11

Interesting on Dino only a week ago, he was appointed to fix issues with Star Gold Coast.

Everytime ScoMo is at one of our games Dino is close by
