I'd assume this competition would be a ratings winner for Ten, it's good to have this form of the game on FTA

After this weekends matches, I have to say that I love it. Sure, the best talent is not playing...but the talent there (minus the Sydney Thunder) is pretty darn good. Some cricket snobs should give this comp a break and enjoy it.

Saw a couple of highlights packages... it sucked before and it still sucks.

Maddinson looked pretty good, but there is still too much dirty wild slogging.

They keep saying that T20 games are 'even' but as soon as a team gets anything 180+ the chasing team falls behind in a few overs and everything after that is a complete write off.

I thought it was OK, after a few weeks of it the novelty will wear off. Main thing that pisses me off is the Victorian nuffies who commentate. Old mate this arvo said that T20 cricket was just like AFL with "man marking" WTF??

ILL watch some of it as I have in the past, lets face it any form of cricket is better than what's on most of the time on free to air tv. But its still a crap game. Due to the shortness of the game you'd expect most games to be close, but it doesn't happen more oftgen than not, and is pretty ugly when its one sided

Its a format of the game not to be taken seriously, a bit of slap and tickle and take the piss out of

I'm having a good time watching BBL. It's engaging and goes at a fast pace. I enjoy the shortness of the game as you can have a good time watching it with your mates. It's also fun to watch it with the family. Brings almost all generations together. Even chicks that generally hate cricket like watching T20. It's just meant to be fun times when watching T20 cricket. Not meant to be taken srsly at all.

It's good because it's on. I like having sport to watch on weekends.

The size of the f**k I could not give about who wins the tournament or even any given match is incomprehensible.

Pretty much this, but those useless Victorian commentators are f**king atrocious.

So far it feels more like The Big Bash Project on Ten.

Glichrist is great though.

Almost carrying the whole presentation by himself.

Cricket's been good too.

Well said. I'm just in it to watch some entertaining cricket.

It was a good game last night, what a finish.

Hogg takes a blinder of a catch and Cutting hits the winning the runs.

Also the coverage hasnt been too bad, but will have to get used to AFL Commentators calling the whole match, like they did in 2011-12 when Warren Smith and Brian Taylor (I think?) were calling the whole time.

Gilchrist is a good commentator IMO.

Armageddon.

My only problem is that games are often one sided. Last night between Perth and Brisbane was one of the better T20 games you'll see though.

That Blake Dean spin bowler for the Thunder is probably close to the worst cricketer I've seen in a while.

They really are, its a common misconception that T20 games are always 'close'.

All it takes is a few overs, one spell, one cameo and you can completely bury a side.
Watching a team try to chase down at 15 RPO required and having a horrible dash is just painful viewing.

I went to the game on Saturday night. The crowd was decent, the cricket was entertaining, and the other entertainment was not too in-your-face. I had a good game, as did my 6yo son. We'll be going again.

This. Have been very impressed with the greater role Gilchrist has taken on at Ch10 (with the on-camera stuff) compared to when he was on Ch9 with the limited opportunities he's had after he retired. Definitely a big coup of the BBL coverage. Has excellent insight and knowledge. Definitely a big shame he didn't want the test captaincy after Steve Waugh retired (given he was the successor as he was vice-captain to Waugh) and showed what he was capable of in '04 when we broke our 35yr losing streak in India.

Also, what about Sir Viv? Absolute legend, loved that bit about the Thunder towards the end of Saturday night's match when they were on the verge of losing. Would love to hear him in commentary any day of the week over the likes of Brayshaw (then again, Viv's talent would be wasted on Ch9, just like Kerry O'Keefe when he was on Ch9 before he moved to the ABC radio)

It is funny that even as a commentator Ponting offers zero! No wonder he was awful as a test captain! There is a damn good reason that the only series he won in India..Gilchrist captained 3 out of 4...and he lost the 1 he did lol!
