Mylo cancels impending Australian tour due to illness
The Big Day Outs Boiler Room headline live act Mylo has canceled his impending Australian tour. Mylo is one of the dance scenes fasted rising stars, having turned heads across the world since the release of his formative debut album Destroy Rock & Roll. He was due to feature on the national Big Day Out tour performing with his live band, as well as solo sideshows in Sydney (at Home on January 28th) and Melbourne (at the Prince of Wales on February 2nd). If you bought tickets to Mylos sideshow youll be able to gain a refund from your point of purchase. In an official statement from the Big Day Out, Mylo's management stated:
Myles contracted a virus over the New Year which
resulted in partial hearing loss in one ear. Unfortunately the situation has since worsened and he has lost hearing in one ear completely, and has only partial hearing in his other ear. He was hoping that a couple of days rest would help regain his hearing. However, since his arrival in Cape Town for a show and receiving specialist medical treatment, unfortunately no progress has been made. As a result of this, he is grounded in Cape Town and unable to move at the moment. As you can probably imagine it is impossible for him to perform right now and therefore we regretfully have to cancel the Big Day Oout shows.

Jack White Suffers Throat Ailment, Postpones Gigs
Matthew Solarski reports:
Art is hard, mused Cursive, and now Jack White is finding out the hard way. The White Stripes announced Monday that their four-date Japanese tour, scheduled to kick off tomorrow, has been postponed because, according to a post on their official website, "Jack White is suffering from an acute vocal cord problem." That, my friends, officially sucks.
The post continues, "As part of his treatment, the doctors have instructed Jack not to speak or sing for the next two weeks." And so, for at least a fortnight, there will be no screeching, yowling, or touting of the Coca-Cola from Mr. White. (Coke has to be murder on your throat, anyway.) There will only be touting of Marc Jacobs apparel courtesy of Meg White, who was recently announced as the face of MJ's latest campaign. Simply darling.
The Stripes "hope to reschedule [the postponed] dates as soon as we can" and are confident Jack will make a recovery in time for the Big Day Out Festival, which begins January 20 in New Zealand.
