Welcome to Perth lol. Its dog eat dog on the Terrace with a lot of Western burbs Alpha males who are very rich men ruling the roost.

I’m hoping there really are a lot of East Coasters living over there these days who will go to the games … the born and bred Perthites are going to dig in around the AFL … hope their two teams continue to do shit in the meantime ..

I love it how these articles always refer to all the South Africans in Perth …. As if they are going to go to an NRL game lol ,,., I have never met a South African that would admit to liking the game ..,

If we have any smarts we'll be making the game day experience massive and a must do for the 15-30 year olds. Most clubs chuck on some gas flame throwers at beginning of the game and some screeching from a PA commentator to encourage the crowd to cheer and think they're offering good entertainment. Hopefully the Perth Bears have a bit more imagination.

re the Saffers, yeh they cant get them to watch rugby union, not sure they'll be flocking to NRl games!

The board members are set (pending 2 members who have current NDA’s on them in relation to other ventures). They’ll look to announce all at the same time.

Not sure when but end of July is likely (pending those 2 members).

After it was confirmed that Mal Meninga will be the head coach of the Perth Bears, the NRL's newest expansion team have set their sights on another target.

According to News Corp, the Bears have set their sights on Gold Coast Titans recruitment chief Ezra Howe as they look to build their roster in the coming months when several players hit the open market on November 1 for the 2027 NRL season.
A former coach of the Junior Kiwis and assistant coach of the New Zealand Kiwis, Howe has a long history with Meninga, which is likely to give him the upper hand in landing the job.
Previously with Meninga at the Canberra Raiders, Howe has been with the Gold Coast Titans since 2019, where he has made a significant contribution to the Titans' Elite Development squad and pathways system for players at the Under-16s and Under-18s levels.

Looks like Bracey is joining Billy (possibly) on Perth Bears board and current Chairman Daniel Dickinson also in line for a director role. @Red&BlackBear where you at?

Channel 9 presenter James Bracey set to join Perth Bears board despite conflict of interest fears

A Channel 9 presenter with deep ties to North Sydney is set land a key role with the Perth Bears despite the NRL harbouring concerns over the potential for conflict given he works for the Nine Network.

Former Bears forward Josh Stuart says nephew Nathan Cleary would be "unreal" for the incoming Perth side and shares a detail about his relationship with Mary Fowler.
Nine Network sports presenter James Bracey is set to be part of the inaugural board of the Perth Bears.
Sport Confidential can reveal that despite concerns over a potential conflict of interest given his role at the game’s host commercial broadcaster, Bracey is expected to fill one of the seven spots on the board.
North Sydney chair Daniel Dickson is also expected to be an inaugural director.
Bracey’s anticipated role with game’s newest franchise, who will enter the premiership in 2027, comes as the NRL deals with challenges in Western Australia with Seven West media.

The NRL have been targeted by the local newspaper while Seven in Sydney was instructed to avoid asking questions about the Bears at a press conference last week to announce Mal Meninga as the maiden coach.
They were also asked to frame their shots to avoid including recently-appointed Bears chiefs executive Anthony De Ceglie.
De Ceglie is the former editor-in-chief of The West Australian newspaper, a significant arm of Stokes’ media empire which also includes Seven West Media.

North Sydney legends and fans are looking forward to their reincarnation as the Perth Bears, while returning to North Sydney Oval for the Beer Footy Food festival.
Bracey is one of the most respected figures in sports media but his appointment has the potential to inflame tension between the NRL and Seven West bosses.
Bracey is a rabid Bears fan, having campaigned long and hard for the club’s return to the NRL.
He had made it known that he was interested in being part of the Perth Bears board but the NRL were known to harbour concerns over the potential for conflict given he works for the Nine Network.

James Bracey (L) is set to join Perth Bears board.
Bracey is set to join a short list of television personalities who hold positions of power in the NRL.
Bracey’s colleague Phil Gould is the head of football at the Bulldogs while Fox League expert Greg Alexander sits on the board of the Penrith Panthers.
Gould, in particular, has come under heavy fire at times for seeming to use his position on Nine as a vehicle to wield influence on behalf of the Bulldogs.

Geez North Sydney stacking the board? Add in an alleged NSW chairman and it's looking great as a WA club!

Met home in Perth and seemed a nice bloke. Not sure what he brings to a board though?
NS fans seem less enamored by him after a short stint on the NS board.

No, a handful of wackos from The Den group who are disenfranchised with anyone that doesn’t push their rubbish wack-job narratives are less than pleased. These out of touch wackos have no real world experience in anything relevant to operations of a business. Their claim to fame is making counterfeit apparel, go figure.

Anyone with half a clue supports Brace and also supports Dicko’s appointments. The WA directors are coming shortly, one still has an NDA on them due to another venture. More leaks of names are to come.

Certainly seems like north sydney has been full of division bordering on civil war. Some of the stories I’ve heard are very interesting indeed! Not sure we want to bring that to our new club thank you!

There’s no division. I’ve quite literally explained to you what it was. A group of wackos who make up the Den group (you know the counterfeit merchandise ones…).

Dicko was instrumental in getting this over the line. He is still there, going strong and the Den are still being idiots on Facebook. You don’t need 4 year old archived news articles to understand that.
