How did the Bears go today?

GOOD! :)

North Sydney 26 (J Olive 2, C Walker 2, C McInnes tries; D Nicholls 3 goals)
bt Wests Tigers 8 (K Lulia, K Rowe tries)

SUMMARY: North Sydney Bears put in an incredibly-dominant performance over Wests Tigers, comfortably beating them 26-8. Cody Walker was unbelievable for the Bears, who were in control for the entire 80 minutes and never looked like losing. John Olive returned from first grade to bag two tries in the opening 15 minutes.

Great result.

Did Brown, Clark and Reddy play?

Was Manuleleau a late inclusion, anyone know?

How did Carter go anyone know?

It's impressive that they only let 8 points in!

I just posted this in another thread.

I watched them play.
Carter wasn't really noticed to be honest and I was looking for him. That said, it is his first game of the entire season and with no training with any top squads he has probably just been training by himself (aka, not much at all). I expect him to be used as cover for injuries in the back end of the season.

Standouts were Cody Walker, John Olive (showed some great pace and is a good finisher), Jason Clark, Cam McInnes, Jack Gosiewski and Joel Reddy.

I suspect if Cody Walker was available for selection when Adam was originally injured he would have been used. He was only eligible to play a week or so before Adam came back and they probably didn't want to disrupt the team any further. especially considering we weren't exactly firing on all cylinders at that stage.

I was just about to post that, he was originally supposed to be back in August.

That's some backline that norths are starting to put together.

The NRL is allowing him to play reserve grade but his off field behaviour must remain exemplary. If so the NRL are going to allow him to return in Round 23.

Hope they let him back earlier say Round 20, that would be a good game to blood him in.

To be honest with you I don't think he'll walk straight back into the side, he'll have to displace Goodwin.

Very fair point there. Goodwin has been playing good footy.

If there is an injury in our backs he would come back in though.

Awesome news!

He can't come back into 1st grade until his suspension ends on August 13.

We play the Cowboys in Round 23 on the 13th August, the NRL will allow him to play in first grade from this date onwards as long as he continues to behave in a perfect manner off the field with zero behavioural issues in the next 6 weeks and obviously he can't stuff up again in general.

As Southsport said Auva'a probably won't just displace Goodwin. Auva'a will have to really earn it and an injury to one of our backs may give Auva'a the best chance at making his return. Anyway it's a positive as it will add much needed depth to our outside backs.

I reckon if he goes very well in NSW Cup he will replace Goodwin in Round 23. Goodwin has improved but still not as good as Auva'a was last year.

I agree Goodwin isn't in the same class as Auva'a. Auva'a is definitely superior.

We will have to wait and see what happens.

The fact Auva'a will be playing with the Bears the next 6 weeks is very good and will put him in good stead.
