Do we really need another machine with Gallen, Dumas and Nutley in the pack? All of these guys can go 80 minutes aswell if needed. Bickerstaff is not needed. If Isemonger plays like he did last week then look out Parra... Dumas and the Ice man are coming for ya
Look what we are getting back in the side though. Beattie, I think with him in as the big hitter we need a machine to balance us out. Remember, He is a replacement player, he will replace Gallen and Nutley.
Who says he'll be put in the side?
For mine he's been soft ever since he curbed his aggression to avoid the suspensions he was copping.
Still, I kind of feel sorry for the guy. On Fox before the Cowboys game they showed him inside the sheds revving everyone up and looked to be taking on a leader's role.
Then the poor bugger gets KO'd before he gets a chance to go out and lead by example.
Tough one alright.
If anyone goes it's Bickers. He's a tackling machine but I think Isemonger is every bit as effective (and hits harder), and also offers more in attack.
I still haven't seen anything from Bickers to warrant what everyone has raved about for the last couple of years.
You didn't see the StGeorge Illawarra Semi final in 2002 the Don Juan?
Bickerstaff played an absolute blinder. He was one of our better forwards in 2002.
I agree that Bickerstaff has not recaptured his form of 2002. Isemonger must be in the side on last weeks performance. I'd prefer to see a fired up Beatts in the side than Bickerstaff.
Bickerstaff, played a number of good games for the Sharks in 2002. His career is not just based around the performance in that Dragons semi final, but several other good games as well. He didn't play well last year, but he wasn't on his Pat Malone there.
PARRAMATTA v CRONULLA at Parramatta Stadium, today 5.35pm
Former Queensland prop Chris Beattie has been told he is likely to play premier league for the Sharks tonight after he was named on a six-man bench. Beattie and Reece Williams are to be omitted. The NRL's latest English recruit, Chris Thorman, has been added to the Eels' first-grade squad after Ronald Prince was booked in for knee surgery. Lock Luke O'Dwyer (lower leg) has also gone under the knife, with Chris Muckert joining London recruit Thorman in receiving a call-up, while Parramatta centre David Vaealiki (ribs) has until this morning to prove his fitness
