Fair enough, I think sometimes Beaver doesn't get enough credit. But yes it is a bit strange selecting himself.

Is the side full of 17 backrowers who used to bludge on the wing and never run the ball in the forwards. He'd be captain and ben kennedy would be in there along with gourlay and priddle

Interesting he included himself.

Who else is going to captain-coach it?!?

Hahaha.

It does feel a bit off him to select himself, but it's HIS dream team. He could have named Steve Roach at fullback and he'd have every right to do it.

He would have named himself because he would like to play in that team obviously.

It is a very good team also.

...not a great team either.

actually, look at some of the names.
meninga, slater, lyons, inglis, lazarus, toovey & clyde

some of those guys are all-time greats or at least were up there with the best of their era

its a f*cking GREAT team!

Lyons and Joey in the halves, the most creative halves pairing you could possibly think of in Beaver's time.

Also that old combination of Lyons and Menzies.

Lol someone doesn't understand the role of the modern day second rower.
FastEddie watch the game tonight and notice how the back rowers generally run two or three players wide of the ruck. Get with the times.
