With all the union teams comming out to oz for the world cup,we the league have a great chance of coverting these union teams to league :D
just think of it,they get here a couple of weeks before it starts and all they will see is NATIONAL RUGBY LEAGUE all they will hear is NATIONAL RUGBY LEAGUE.these union players from countries that have never seen league before will just get dizzy with all the running and try scoring, with the crowds chanting at the grand final, everywhere they go they will hear about league :)

1 week before the wc opens these teams will be watching the NRL grand
final, visiting teams say, coach what is this rugby?
coach says i dont know BUT I LIKE IT
teams says can we play that game?
coach says after world cup son after world cup.

after wc breaking news every ruwc team (bar S.A AUS NZ ENG FRNC)
all leave union to make new comps playing league in the countries, rugby union, after having a record amount of money lost at there 3rd biggest sporting event, give up on being pro and go back to amature union.

2004 rugby league proudly anounces that 16 new nations are now playing.
well i hope :p

i think that atleast 3 countries will start playing league after the union wc,give them the chance to see the best and they will start to play it themselves :D

Whats going to happen is when the world cup hits all of Australia is going to get excited. In the newspapers and TV its going to be rugby this, rugby that.

All the little kids that don't know or don't play rugby will look at the games and think, "wow I like to play this game". They will see the wallabies play and do well and think, "gee I love to play for my country". If the wallabies win it will be a bonus, if they don't it won't matter cause the kids will want to play rugby anyway.

All those league fans and rules fans will watch rugby, most for the first time, and think "hey this aint such a bad sport". Many will then take an interest to the game, and start following and going to some games.

After the world cup, rugby playing numbers will grow immensly, especially in the junior ranks. ARU with their $50 million profit will for once pour a good portion of that in to grow the game around the country. The media and fans will scream for a national competition, and some wealthy backers will be eager to help out too. Planning gets underway, and before you know a new national competition is born.

Yep, its all good for rugby.

I really can't see how this will all be good for yawnion. All it will do is further emphasise how boring the code is and that people will never want to watch it again. I can see young kids all over Australia falling asleep as the yawn fest slowly progresses day by boring day, match by boring, uncompetitive match. Yawnion videos will go through the roof though, as parents find a new method of getting their young ones to bed earlier. Nothing like a boring yawnion game to start blowing zzzz'sss. I'm getting sleepy just talking about it.

I think it will be a chance for us to grab some publicity from Union for a change.
Most of the players in sides like the US, and european countries will be amatuers in the true sence, and most will give league a trial if asked.
I think every really exciting player should be offered a trial by a league club. Not many will make the grade, but it won't cost a lot to put them up for a month or two and put them through an off season of training, and we would grab headline after headline from Union, with all these guys making a media profile for themseleves in the Union WC and than being linked to League.

I can see it so clearly now..I'm in OZ to play for my country in the biggest sporting event of 2003 and I'm going to spend time watching some unknown parocial game when I could be traing or sightseeing...yeah, right. Or, I just spent $10-15,000 to come down under to see REAL RUGBY and I'm going to waste time watching TV....Yeah, right. DREAM ON mungo lovers.
MANGO.
