I've got no issue with signing Api, I mentioned signing Api very early on. Egan has just been named 9 in what looks like a full strength side.
@betcats we came out of the gate like a busted. We looked unfit across the board & uncoordinated in attack, which (imo) is down to the coaching staff. From my view, instead of identifying those issues as coaches, he seemed to put a line through a bunch of players. Mostly the '2nd tier' guys like Sele, Fui, Katoa, Egan etc. For example, Fui ain't a superstar but he's a solid bench option who was only used out of position & never got a sniff thereafter. Sele was pushing for a starting spot Rnd 1, had great reports across the board but after our poor start to the season (where he got limited minutes), completely fell out of favour & never get another look in. IMO our season got back on track as the fluency & fitness improved due to playing regularly, as opposed to the players that were pushed out or came in.
I think Katoa & Egan were in the same boat. Am I glad we signed Api? Absolutely, terrific player. But I also think we'll see there's a fair bit more upside to Katoa & Egan then what we saw.
