Never thought I’d say this, but can’t wait for Hayne to come back into the team. Bevan is offering f**k all.
Doesn’t come in enough to help run the ball.
I think he prefers right side. Maybe swap French and Gennigs on the wings.
Think Taka might be out with that knee next week though

The knee he hurt when he got smashed in the face without a penalty?

Consider the quality they have at the bottom of their top 30. There are blokes worth $100k-$150k earning between $70k and $100k. It's not much in the context of the salary cap but the difference in quality of players is significant. If you want to live in Brisbane they're your only option. How much extra would you want to go and live in Sydney on a one year backup's salary if the Broncos are offering $100k?

Come on Pou Bear...5 of these blokes would be Broncos player 24 to 29 in their current squad:
Andre Savelio
Salesi Funaki
Gehamat Shibasaki
Marion Seve
Mosese Pangai
Troy Dargan
Sam Scarlett
Todd Murphy

I'd suggest they're all worth no more than minimum wage, and wouldn't be paid any more than that. whether they played at Parra, Roosters, Broncos or the Raiders.

They're the equivalent of Salmon and Niukore (probably not even up to Niukore level) at Parra.

Do they really have any depth???

Love to see the Broncos minows tax returns.

Was thinking that last night. On the wing or pushing Taka onto the edge will be a great addition.
Why does Taka deserve to go straight back out an edge???

He offered SFA his first two game there.

With Brown back Mau and Tep should be our starting edge forwards and Gowie can play at a pinch.

Young Marata looked ok in his short space out there Taka on form should be arseholed. Just a brain Fart machine,

Taka is an imperative part of our team. Both centres were poor last night however.

I agree but I can’t see BA taking this group forward. He has peaked and it may be time to move him on.

I know you question BA’s ability but last night he made 2 tactical decisions that wouId have got us the win if not for some poor finishing (Jennings 2 dropped balls / Norman’s pass to French).

First he moved Norman to fullback/Gutherson to 5/8 which proved to be a great move - i reckon it improved our attack and hopefully we will build on it.

Second, notice all the metres our forwards made last night? Normally our middle forwards run straight, yet last night on to many occasions for it not be a tactical move, our middle forwards were running straight then switching their angle to move across the field then straighten up again.

Alvaro / Peni (and probably Manu / Gower too) did it several times quite successfully making good metres. BA obviously identified a weakness in the broncos defensive line a few defenders wide from the ruck.

BA can still coach, we just need some luck (and players back).

Yeah you can’t deny the effort last night. The forwards were great IMO.

Brown in and Vave out, and the team looks so much better.

How many of our juniors have really kicked on since coming into grade???

Tep was great last night but on the whole had been disappointing, French also seems to have gone backwards. Blokes like Pauli Pauli, Kelepi and floundered in our system.

Twal was years away in our system but goes straight into the Tigers set up and looks a handy first grader. We all know BA is reluctant to give youth a chance maybe he can’t produce the environment to thrive like other coaches seem to be able to do???

How many juniors do other clubs produce ?

Looking at the dragons and us:

Dragons have 6 players in this weeks side that debuted at the dragons
Frizell, De Belin, Atiken, Nighingale, Duffy, Lawrie. Additionally they have no injured players that debuted with them that wouId make their side.

While we also had 6 players that debuted we us in last nights game - Alvaro, Morea, Ma’u, Terepo, French, Niukore. Additionally we have Mannah, Hayne and Pritchard who all debuted with us but are injured yet wouId also make our side.

Note - I may have missed a player or two.

So I say our junior system is doing ok and will probably get a lot better with a different structure apparently in place.

I say there is also a fair chance of a few debuts in the next year or so with DA, salmon, Stone, Maloney, Kaufusi all getting close.

I reckon Pritchard is probably who we missed most, obviously his defence is a plus, but he wouId have taken more advantage with his running game with all the metres we made in the middle. Did we even get a penalty for an offside marker?

While I agree French isn’t a winger, interestingly last night was probably the most metres he made all year - 96m (Gennings made 198).

Actually thought French did a lot more rucking out last night.

My point why do our juniors never really to do well here??? But as soon as they leave they look different players.

We were all told Twal was years away from first grade and he has shown straight away he is.
Perhaps our juniors just get talked up too much ... which have left to become particularly good players elsewhere?

I have some faith that there are some coming along that might step up ... but i watch little juniors so not really my place to judge .... i have high hopes for dylan brown from the little i have seen

we were pretty good last night apart from a few handling errors.
The main difference was the refs, their first try was a forward pass, Jennings had the ball knocked out so should have been play on Gennings to score, French tackled mid air from a kick no penalty, Normans pass was not forward that led to French's try being called back.
We were all over their forwards the only thing keeping them ahead on the scoreboard was our handling the 50/50 refs calls going their way.
If it happened to Cronulla 4 times in a season like it has happened to us this year Buzz Rothfield would do a 3 page spread on the refs calls.
8pts on the table the refs have cost us this season so far.

True. We had the broncos on the back foot and couldn’t deliver. Taking the 2 proved costly.
