Ben Creagh retires

One of the true gentlemen of the game. If more players had his personal attributes, Rugby League would be a much better game for it.

Oh, and a beast in his prime. A real unsung hero of the Dragons from about 2007-2011. Some of those kamikaze lines he used to run, half the edge forward in the comp would shit themselves at the thought of running like that.

Ben creagh
Never landed a punch
Never threw a punch
Never carried on like a complete tool

Justin Hodges
Threw about 2 punches
Never landed a punch
Carried on like a complete tool in almost every game he played

Both have premiership rings.

A season or two after the Hodges incident Creagh did get sin binned for throwing a few weak punches, I'll try and find it and post.

Wait..... A blemish on his career is not wanting to fight someone on the football field? Jesus f**king Christ. What are we? Neanderthals?

Great player. Doesn't deserve to end his career through injury like this but I wish him all the best.

Picked a fight then ran away from it on national television.
I was being as diplomatic as I could and you still whinge fmd.

The fact that the Hodges incident is brought up anytime his name is mentioned probably says it all.

Pretty good club player but was hopelessly out of his depth at rep level.

Lets not forget when he shit himself a second time when he watched Hodges dog shot his clearly injured team mate.

Wingers are bigger now, hence him being average for 5 years.

Funny how apparently you have to have played 300 NRL games to pass judgement on a player. Shame if that ever gets written into policy, I can't imagine Terry Lamb can spell, but it'd be exciting when Freddie goes on a drunken posting binge. And would Paul Langmack get to comment on coaching issues, or would he fail by that criteria as well?

It's not about whether you can pass judgement or not. It's about keyboard heroes calling NRL players soft. No, if you have never played an NRL game you do not have the right to call a player soft.

Perfect game tonight for hodges to play in
Lots of tough guys with big mouths who know they won't get belted.

Last I checked, fights didn't win football games.

The ability to fight doesn't have anything to do with being a good rugby league player.

I'm enjoying the comparisons of Creagh and Hodges. Pretty easy to sum them up.

Ben Creagh - Talented Rugby League player, leader of his club and a gentleman of the game who is a credit to his club.

Justin Hodges - Talented Rugby League player, leader of his club and.... Yeah

Creagh might always be remembered for running backwards, but Hodges will always be remembered for being a f**k wit.

Why are people talking about a fight when discussing a Rugby career?

Their are no tough guys in the NRL anymore, it is to professional, the rules make it easy to pretend, and Australian men are now just soft..
Look at today, Parker gets a tap and cries like a big blubbering princess for the rest of the game and in the handshakes afterwards.
Broncos fans who in this thread love a bit of Hodges join him. Soft.

Good luck to Creagh in the future. A very good career.

To be fair he is not retiring from the dragons he's just backing away from them.

Nah but for real, one of the good guys if the comp, still can't believe he started off as a winger

Why did you stop? let me finish off what you were about to say

Justin Hodges - Talented Rugby League player, leader of his club and one of the best centres of the modern era, went on the play 24 origins, 13 test caps, 2 premierships, all that whilst enduring potentially career ending injuries along the way

Crap player but a great bloke, and I'd love to go on a road trip up the coast with him. We'd do all the cliche touristy things - photos in front of the Big Banana, surfing lessons at Byron Bay and a ride to the top of the Q1 building in Surfers Paradise, but I'd like to think the holiday would mean more than that. While Ben and I wouldn't have much in common at first and the conversation would be awkward and stilted to begin with, we'd find common ground and by the time we went for a day trip through the Daintree Rainforest, we'd have a special connection that would last a lifetime. We'd feel comfortable to share anything with each other, and would become lifelong friends.

I don't expect this to happen, but it would be great if it did.

Of all the weirdo alter egos in this forum, sgt kabukiman is definitely my favorite.
