Not that much said about Ryles performance. I thought he played an excellent props game, good barging runs and strong tackles. Although not man of the match, he was up there with the best IMHO. He would be in any Saints side that I would select.

Also lets not put down Brisbane., although missing most of their stars, they played well above their weight, so to speak, and made Saints work for the win.

Just thought this would be an appropriate drunken */bump* for Ben 'THE BULL' Creagh. Thats right Bailey, you have been ousted from the title of Bull. You are now known as the 'cow', and while we're at it, Riddell shalst be now be known as the 'sparrow' (just because i said so).

Saints played pretty well, but that wasjust about the flattest Brisbane performance I've seen. Sims was OK, effort-wise, but where were the rest of the forwards? I'd love to be getting excited about Saints chances, but in all seriousness, have we really dented anyone at full-strength? I've heard the 'you can only beat who is in front of you', but apart from Easts, which win was really 'against the odds'?
I'm still more excited about 2009 than I am about our chances this season.
However, a week feels a hell of a lot better after a win, don't it?!

i think we should have reason to get excited...we beat the roosters at full strength the titans at full strength and manly at full strength in manly. the only games we played that a team was not a fulll strength was melbourne (who probably would of beat us) and the broncos who we usually deliver and arse whipping to anyway when they are at full strength.. not only that ...we are building momentum and thats a big part of making it to the semis.
