It's actually a really interesting process to watch.. happens every time... 1 club removes a player that is driving them crazy with their attitude/form/injuries/drug-use.. they are usually stoked to move them on... but fans from the new club choose to focus on the positives/potential. Its the same player.. but 2 completely different viewpoints.

But in reality, a new coach backs himself to extract something better out of the player.. you dont get to sign players at their peak.. something has to go wrong for them to be moved on.

If I look at Cook, Holmes, JAC, Gutho, Lodge.. all 5 I could give you a list of negative takes.. but I could also come up with a list of huge positives & upgrades over our current.. I think its human instinct to be try and be optimistic about our future prospects.. well thats the case for most humans.. a couple on here seem to be hard-wired to only focus on the worst-case scenario.. but if you take that part ur going to be very unhappy.
I hear what you saying. Take Lodge for example…he breaks into a family’s home and beats up the home owners…if he were to join the dragons…I’d see that as mongrel…which is what our forward pack needs.

It took me some greasing of palms and some spin, but I finally got my hands on some pretty hot property today:

I get the chance to watch him pack up his locker full of $100 bills and lipstick and help March him out of the joint.

He’s not allowed to say goodbye to anyone and the kogarah express now sits where his Lamborghini was parked

The Hunt has finally got the punt!

No chauffeur like Hook got.

Hook should have been rolled out in a wheelie bin.

Fox sport reports that Hunt and Dragons have officially parted ways. The Dragons have given him an immediate release. I’m very disappointed. I think Cook and Hunt could have been a great combination. With no quality half backs on the market I‘m not optimistic about 2025. We now have Lomax and Hunt walk out of the club and taking a huge drop in their salaries just to get away from the place. It’s not a great look.
I think you are lone wolf here mate, no way is this a bad move for the Dragons.

I have seen that happen way to many times when team pick up a discard and fans focus on the negatives. I good example is when Saints brought in Packer and Dugan. I thought both played well at the Dragons and left to other teams on bigger coin than what Saints offered which showed how much they improved at the club. When those 2 left Saints they seemed to not play as well which also shows players that chase the cash rather than repay a team that brought them back to life and showed faith in them, is an immediate red flag.
Duges copped a lot of crap from fans for not being a ball playing fullback but I loved watching him play for the Red V. Always 100% effort.

Understand your concerns Veteran Dragon , however Mr. Hunt had made his thoughts and intentions ( returning to Queensland ) quite clear for a couple of seasons before the Dragons finally adhered to his wishes .

The ongoing drama which was covered by the media only made matters worse , as did the numerous leaks of in-house discussions , all as you have said , giving the club a rather bad look .

But both the club and Flanagan had made it clear on a number of occasions that they wish to retain Benny’s services however he had other ideas . Even although the Dragons gave him an extension - that yet again took a large chunk of the salary cap , the man still was not happy .

What were they to do ? He would only play half for St.George Illawarra yet the little mongrel would play wherever for his beloved banana landers . No , he is best gone , he was undoubtedly the lousiest Big Red V captain
the club ever had and should be horse whipped all the way back to the Sunshine state !
