Hi guys,

There's a rumour that Hull KR may offer him a contract in ESL. Obviously he's not a top quality player, but how did he get on when he played for you guys a few seasons ago?

Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks

Garreth.

no where near as much talent as his brothers Luke(Dragons) & Adam(Knights), and personally i thought he was close to hopeless playing for melbourne, he did have the odd good game, but he didnt impress me too much, and plus he is about 30 now.

He's a good player, good fend, solid runner, imo runs hardest runner of the MacD's, Can tackle pretty good too, current Storm centre Anthony Quinn is very similar to him

I'm not exactly sure what games you were watching but i thought he was a good player when he was with us. You obviously never saw many Storm games up there because he was for from "close to hopeless"

I think you can draw your conclusion from this - we didn't fight to hard to retain him (he is a solid player - but we had better talent sitting below him).

Most players try to stay in the country or go to Super League - he went all the way to Scotland to play union.

I personally think he would make a better Union player than League - I think it suits his playing style.

It is easy for grandstand experts to dump on a player, but in League there are some amazingly talented kids coming through - so if you are a solid player that is there just on plain hard work - you can look very, very ordinary.

thats just my opinion, he is a hegarty case imo, can play wonderful in a solid team, but in a crap team, he would be average, tends to rely on the other centre alot.

the games i saw him in, he was very average, i saw a game against the roosters i think, he had a blinder, but the average ratio is far better than blinder ratio, fairly inconsistent for mine.

i dont think he would make a successful switch from playing union over in scotland for the last few years back to top grade league in england

Ben has the tools to be a success, he has an attitude problem.

He may have a second coming, Justin Morgan is very good at getting players to rise to their potential.

Apparently our club have denied any interest in him on the local radio station this morning, but thanks for the comments anyway.
