I doubt we are chasing either of them. We have a future Australian rep in Patterson, and take your pick for the other 2 slots. We just dont need anymore back rowers unless its like SBW, we honestly dont have a spot for them.

I can see why a coach might be looking at playing back rowers in the centres, the game has been moving that way for some time, but i still doubt we are after either of em.

Heighington would have to be stupid to come here. We're probably not going to offer too much more money than either the Dragons or Panthers so money shouldn't be too much of a factor and he would have to work hard to start here over Taia, Paterson, Houston or Simpson. Plus the chance to get coached by Bennett is a massive lure for players.

Heighington would walk straight into our starting pack, he definately wouldn't have to work hard to take a spot off Houston or Taia.

He wouldn't be all that far away from Origin, a really really good forward he is.

But no, we still don't actually need him when the only real missing link in the squad is a top quality centre.

The strange thing is that Smith has the team playing a very open, entertaining, width of the field style of football that a lot of other clubs are not. You would think having some classy outside backs would be extremely important to this plan because Buderus, Gidley, Mullen, Dureau, Bailey etc can actually get some good ball to centres on a regular basis.

Can you imagine some of the tries we would've scored this year with Gasnier on the end of some of our plays instead of Lulia, Doogs, McManus, Wes.....

But there's not point forking out too much cash for another reasonable centre. I'd rather wait another year and hopefully buy someone with a bit of class.

Heighington! Too goood to be true. I think his leaving the Tiges is cos they signed superb english backrower Gareth Ellis. Ellis is a world class player and would not be cheap. Best forward in the ESL by a country mile along with Jimmy Peacock.

I read in a news story then that apparently our link with Heighington was that we enquired about him through his manager and the price was too high so we instantly walked away. Cbf grabbing the link but I think it was on leaguehq.com.au

Heighnington will sign probably with the dragons today although still a rough chance he will stay in tigerland but the smart money is a three year deal with the dragons.

Teo will be the next SBW brillant athlete and player although still a work in progress. Studying law at sydney uni so cant see him moving to Newcastle but can see him moving to another club due to cap restraints at the tigers

not hard to transfer to Newcastle Uni, and we have a top-class law program.

still, cant quite see him here.
