Benji is getting even worse

Benji was great out there. I think there was one poor play which was that pass to Ayshford. Apart from that he was great.

I think he is getting back to his best. I just hope he realises that defence and solid play are the key factors that are making him once again one of the best halves in the game.

I mean they were calling Cronk the best 7 in the game and I thought Benji definitely won the battle between those two out there.

Is it just me or has Benji lost all confidence in his running game, either that or he's scared of getting tackled

Got zero confidence and scared of making more and more errors and the public humiliation and scrutiny that he has attracted. Gone right into his shell and his ratio of good plays to bad plays is alarmingly evident the more ballplaying he does.... As a result he is limiting his involvement.

Needs to go to Reggies and rebuild himself because he is just shot atm.

He was great?

You are off your head and truly have no idea.

And still Benji gets worse. Went for the big play almost every opportunity. Poor cut out passes, woeful kicking game apart from two sensible touch finders in final 10min, up by 12 and five minutes out throws long ball and knocked on. A liability. A non entity when he wasnt doing something dumb.

A great win cant mask his limitations.

Please play that rugby card, Benji.

Sounds like a classic stand off (5/8) to me.

He needs a proper half back to move the team around and he can do his thing at the business end of the field.

Benji was much improved tonight, it is obvious a few posters had their posts written before the game even started. He put in a much improved defensive effort and directed the team around well, his kicking game was really good, watch the game again.

Benji Stats: 1 run for 1m, 11 tackles 1 Missed, No tackle busts, 0 line breaks, 0 offloads or 0 try assists. 1 Try in Garbage time, 2/4 kicking goals 1 Error. Cronk: 1 run 7 metres, 636 kicking Metres, 18 tackles 2 missed not much else.

He was steady enough for us to grind out a win overall, not a bad performance probably just outpointed Cronk. Cronk was playing after Origin on Wednesday night so don't even draw any comparison with these players they are not even close.

He is steadily getting his game together again. The past couple of weeks he has provided exactly what we require from him.

It is also obvious some posters either don't watch the game or have no idea.

If Benji walked out tomorrow, we would be fine. Anyone can just pass the ball.
Not a single facet of his game will be missed.

I'd agree we would be okay if Benji left but only because we have so many halves options at the moment coming through. We would miss him though.

As for running the ball more that criticism keeps coming up but Benji is a very different player now. I read an article where Potter stated how we rely on his kicking game and getting us around the paddock. His running game will still be there but its not as important a component of his game now. Today and last week he has really just done all the little things right that provide a quality game.

If you go and watch that game you will see he had a role in a couple of the tries we scored. You would also see how well his kicking game worked and that his defence was solid and his organisational ability very good.

What made him great when he joined the NRL? It was his running game and trademark sidestep.
Can't remember the last time I saw him step someone. Now it's catch, pass mid field bomb.
Can't organize, can't defend. He is practically a passenger who kicks our goals. Even mediocre at that

I thought he was our poorest tonight.

However the message seemed to sink in and he followed Farahs kicking example later in the game.

We have a few years to work out if Benji can be the player we need him to be to move forward

Benji was good tonight, sure there were a couple of ordinary passes, kicks and tackles but overall his involvement was good.Considering the conditions and that the rain only stopped at full time critisizing him seems harsh.

Answer the question.
What would we miss on the field?

Organisation, instinct, try scoring ability, leadership, brilliang short kicking game to give a few examples.

He completely outplayed sironen tonight, the fact you think reserve graders could step in and fill the gap and that benji wouldn't be missed is ludicrous!

He has consistently outplayed Sironen and I think Sironen has been great.

Some of the opinions on here simply show people with an agenda to grind. Benji was the best half on the field without a doubt. His overall game was simply high quality footy.

Leadership? Organisation? Come on.
Try scoring ability? Anyone can put the ball down.
Instinct is failing him and it shows with the poor options he is taking and the short kicking game was ok but only after Farah lead the way.
Sironen was a machine taking on the line, can't put him to ground and defends like a wall.

I barely notice Benji out there.
