Benji is getting even worse

Leadership? Organisation? Come on.
Try scoring ability? Anyone can put the ball down.
Instinct is failing him and it shows with the poor options he is taking and the short kicking game was ok but only after Farah lead the way.
Sironen was a machine taking on the line, can't put him to ground and defends like a wall.

I barely notice Benji out there.

That's because you're watching through blinkered eyes. Who would you have instead of him there?

He has consistently outplayed Sironen and I think Sironen has been great.

Some of the opinions on here simply show people with an agenda to grind. Benji was the best half on the field without a doubt. His overall game was simply high quality footy.

No agenda. Just don't see the Benji of old. He doesn't deserve a pay rise or an extension.
He is supposed to be a senior player now and lead the way. Far from inspirational or a leader.

At least Kearney saw it and stripped the captaincy.

He may have number 6 on his back but 9 out of 10 times he receives the ball first from dummy half with Sirro standing outside him.In defence tonight sometimes he defended at right centre whilst other times he was more in field. What was good to see was that he put his shoulder into a few tackles that really lifted the team and pinned the Storm deep in there half.

We have no choice. Injury and cap space. Let him play out the last of his contract and move him on.
That's what he deserves and nothing more.

Seriously you need to rewatch the game. Benji was everywhere. Who passed the ball onto Robbie for the Ayshford try. Who passed the ball to Tedesco for the Nofo try. He was all over the park. Heaps of quality kicks. Good solid defence. He also picked up a try at the end.

He was definitely more involved than Sirro. Sirro though is great. Its just that at this point benji is playing great all round footy whereas Sirro is more of a backrower come half in how he is playing.

I think it is a great combo at the moment. WIth Robbie being so creative out of dummy half as well the 6,7 & 9 are looking good. Tedesco is great as well but I'm still waiting for a break-out game.

He wasn't even in our top 5 best tonight.
Hasn't been for the longest time. Thats mediocrity.

Probably rate him 7th or 8th out of the 13.

Tedesco was replaced late in the game anyone heard if he is injured ?The only minor fault with this kid is that he has to learn to chime into the backline and to trail players like Woods or Sirro that can pop a ball to him on the fly.Tonight on occasions he was just standing in the backline making it easy for the defence to read, other than that he was very good.

Benji is wasted accepting the ball at first receiver. He should be two wide of the ruck at all times.

Sirro is a lock forward simple as that

Who else is there to play in the halves ? at this time of the season its a big ask to call in another halves combo, learn the plays and expect them to jell straight away when Benji and Sirro have developed an understanding and know the plays that the team are following.

Another great article with Benji again throwing his support behind Woods this time. Geez he really gets behind the boys doesn't he.

With Farah back in the side and the forwards dominating up front, Marshall produced one of his better performances. Asked how the team had reversed its fortunes following a seven-game losing streak, he said: ''I can only speak for myself, but seven weeks ago I wasn't in control of my game and I wasn't putting us in positions we needed to be.

''Now I'm pretty much playing halfback but just wear No.6. For me, it's about taking control, organising where we need to be on the field and making sure we get to our last-play options.

''When we do that we seem to go a lot better. I've been [playing as a pseudo halfback] for years, it's just the number on my back. I just don't like the No.7.''

Interesting comment from Benji as well. He is obviously changing his game and has been playing the organising half role. I think him and Sirro and really working well together in the halves now.

Siro was playing left centre for much of the game. Do you recall Farah running over to take the fist receiver role late in the game to put up a bomb? he pushed Siro out of the way.

Who touches the ball most in a game? the No 9 followed by either the 6 or 7 based on who is the more dominant in a particular team. At the Tigers, it is not Siro, it is Marshall but when you are down on form, that doesn't give the team much.

I'm pretty confident Siro and Benji are playing 7 and 6 and Robbie is staying at 9. Robbie will always have a couple of plays in the halves but predominately he is playing 9.

Benji is simply playing the organising tighter role and Siro is running off him. I think that this is pretty obvious if you watch the game.

Robbie shifts to half to give an extra running threat in Sirro on the edge. It is pretty effective and should be more so in the dry

Dont want to sound like a broken record.......but he was even worse tonight. Woeful.
Sell this imposter now and move forward.
2014 = 6. Sironen 7. Brooks
Marshall money goes on powerhouse backrowers.

Yeah he was awesome. Like that kick that stole away any momentum.

Gould can bang on about Ayshford and positioning but the problem with Benji is that he doesn't know what he will do so how can any of his outside men hope to get anything right except for by guesswork.

Watch Carney tonight and see a guy who earns his $$ and compare it to Benji

I saw Benji on the footy show and really felt fr him. There have been plenty of times over the years that I have been delighted he was a Tiger. He has been a crowd favorite and I am someone who believes in loyalty but...

For years he has been saying his best is yet to come and each year he gets worse. His mistakes are putting far too much pressure on the team.

I think the commentary team said statistically amongst the 5/8th's he was ranked 13th.

So sadly, I think it's time for him to go. If he truly wants to stay he should negotiate a drop in pay , not an increase. Even then he should know his first grade spot is not guaranteed.

On another issue, how god was Fafita. If only we had kept hold of him. We don't have anyone who comes close when it comes to hitting it up hard.
