Excellent article by Benji.

Frank honesty and sincerity.

I always wondered how Kiwi's really felt when facing the haka. At least, I now know how that Kiwi felt.

Interesting to see a product of the Qld RL school take this stance, including hoping for a blews win.

I for one, don't believe that Origin eligibility should impact country eligibility. I can see someone like Benji being passionate for New Zealand, where his roots are, and Queensland, where he learned his trade. Same thing goes for cutie, Beale, Reed, Hoffman, to name a few, but not for Te'o for example, or Tamou or Kasiano, who grew up in NZ and learned most of their trade there.

That is after all what Origin is about... Where you grew and developped your footy, not where you were born, or which nationality your parents are. That's where eligibility to your country comes in, and at that point a player with dual-eligibility can choose where his heart goes to, without putting at risk his state of origin chances.

Yes but like Benji says, how will your Mr Fourex type fans feel about Kiwis playing origin and then against Australia?

He doesn't even like NSW'men in his Broncos club side.

Agreed. It's pleasing to see at least one Kiwi with integrity. Well done Benji. Living in QLD in your younger years must have taught you something valuable other than just honing your RL skills

Like Benji says....??

For the most part in that article, me and Mr Marshall are on the same page.

For me, money doesn't come into it. It's about where you're from, the pride of representing your country, the pride in your family.
Where does Marshall advocate playing origin for QLD and being able to play for NZ.......?

I'll give you a clue since you obviously don't have one

He doesn't.

He doesn't. Where did I say that he did?

This comment made by Benji is what I was referring too,

Down the track, if it starts to become even more of a regular occurrence, what then? What happens if there are 10 Kiwis in a State of Origin team? I'm sure Australians would not want their NSW or Queensland teams full of Kiwis.

You are an incompetent poster without comprehension skills.

"Like" : similar too, not what he said exactly, that would be "Yes but as Benji says" then quote.

This is what I wrote:

Get it now?

If not, I do not care. The issue is with you being a dim wit.

I will not even start on my use of the word "but" as opposed to "and".

How you even manage to log onto the internet at times mystifies me. I bet the help call centre staff just love you.

The previous sentence did indeed include sarcasm, just in case you were wondering.

Agree with the bold part, but it's completely at odds with your examples. Tamou came over at 12, cutie at 11, as far as I know Kasiano was quite young too, yet you put them in opposite groupings. The Te'o situation is pretty cut and dry, he came to Australia explicitly for a Rugby League contract and should not be eligible. But he is in the exact same boat as Benji (they both came over at 16 specifically to play League) and yet you say you could see Benji playing for QLD?

Interestingly, Hoffman is the opposite to most. Born and bred in Mackay, but choose to play for his father's homeland.

Eligibility laws are a complete mess.

None of cutie, Tamou, Teo, Benji, Burgess, Uate should be eligible for Origin.

Hoffman should. Fien should (lolol). Cayless should have been.

Jason Nightingale as well. It's all convenient though when it works out for NZ you never hear a peep about eligibility being a farce.

Blah blah blah........

So the reality is Marshall said nothing about Kiwis playing origin and then playing against Australia..... "like" you tried to make out earlier

So glad you cleared that up

.......I really don't enjoy having to belittle you every time you post something inaccurate or just plain stupid.

I'd consider it a personal favour if you thought just a little bit more about what you've typed, prior to submitting your reply.

Cheers....;-)

I'm not typically one for ad hominem so I choose my words carefully;

Mr Fourex, I am almost certain that you are suffering from mental geniusation.

A desperate attempt by a kiwi to be relevant in the lead up to one of the biggest rugby league games for a long time.
get the f**k outta here with that bullshit...

the likes of Hoffman, Cayless & Nightingale qualify for NZ on heritage grounds... all sports have heritage rules in place.

The likes of Tamou, Kasioano and Te'o have no heritage links to Australia.

and it goes both ways... Fien, Brent Webb & if Konrad Hurell gets picked for the kiwis its just a big rort.

Good article by a passionate guy. He's a kiwi who came here to further his career/better his life. Just because he is TECHNICALLY able to play for QLD doesn't make him one. I like his honesty.

Ben T'eo played for the junior kiwis so he should not be able to play for us. Same deal for Tony Carroll - even tho the rules were bent for the works cup - he grew up here and played for us so he should never have played for NZ. I think if you play for junior kiwis, kangaroos etc then that's what you are ... Forever.

The only one I have never had a problem with is Adrian Lam. He grew up in QLD from 7 and was still playing in the QRL comp at 23 with, as far as he could see, no chance of playing NRL so he accepted an offer to represent PNG (which to my mind is no diffrent than helping out Lebanon, Italy, Fiji). The super league war obviously muddied the waters too.

Fien especially and also Webb I will grant you.

Players from Tonga, Fiji and Samoa should be exempt and be free to play for Australia, England and NZ w/o repercussions. Any other rule is nothing short of ridiculous.

I for one could not really give a toss that Hayne played for Fiji and NSW/Australia.

If Lote and Petro cannot make the Aus test side anymore, let them play for Fiji. Bloody beautiful for the game.

Nor could I care if Konrad plays for NZ and Tonga.

Second tier nations should not be counted. Whether you include PNG or not as a second tier nation is an interesting call. I don't mind either way but I think they should be classified as second tier.
