Yet you include people like Petero, Lote, Hopoate, Elias, El Masri, Fenech, Uate, Lam and Costigan in your "team of Origin farces"

Of course I do! It is a farce.

I'm not saying it is not farcical, I am saying that it is a necessary evil to improve the game for second tier nations. I want to see League become bigger internationally. I would love to go into a world cup and think that someone other than NZ can beat Australia, or dream of a day where neither Australia nor England are in the final. Wouldn't that be nice? For you, NZ and England, of course.

get the f**k outta here with that bullshit...

the likes of Hoffman, Cayless & Nightingale qualify for NZ on heritage grounds... all sports have heritage rules in place.

other sports also have some form of residency rule, so your point is what?

The likes of Tamou, Kasioano and Te'o have no heritage links to Australia.

apart from growing up there, with their familiy in some cases for those who went for non-league related reasons, going to school there, perhaps receiving their league education over there.

and it goes both ways... Fien, Brent Webb & if Konrad Hurell gets picked for the kiwis its just a big rort.

sure, but don't expect to hear the NZRL squawking over that particular rort. And deep down, you're not really too fussed about it either, if you are honest with yourself.

None of cutie, Tamou, Teo, Benji, Burgess, Uate should be eligible for Origin.

Hoffman should. Fien should (lolol). Cayless should have been.

I agree with you on Benji, Burgess as they declared who they want to play for.Tamou, hunt came over as teenagers, so they more than qualify to play for Australia and Uate, if he does not have the opportunity to play SOO, you effectively reduce his rep option to being zilch. The flip side to that you have Hoffman,Fien and the Cayless brothers declaring themselves Kiwis. Why would you not want guys playing for the country they feel represents them. This airy fairy idea, it's where you are born blah blah is exactly that. It is not enforceable in any case

On the Teo front and maybe Tamou whilst they both qualify, do they consider themselves Aussies or Kiwis. That is a question they would only know the answer too.

Exactly.

Tonearm has his head so far up his own arse that he is ignorant to the fact that more or less no New Zealander is happy for Fien and Webb to play for NZ

The funniest part of the teo situation is that when he said he wanted to play for qld he had actually lived in nz and nsw longer then he had lived in qld for

I wonder at what stager he famous 'qld passion' became Intrenched in him?

Agree with the bold part, but it's completely at odds with your examples. Tamou came over at 12, cutie at 11, as far as I know Kasiano was quite young too, yet you put them in opposite groupings. The Te'o situation is pretty cut and dry, he came to Australia explicitly for a Rugby League contract and should not be eligible. But he is in the exact same boat as Benji (they both came over at 16 specifically to play League) and yet you say you could see Benji playing for QLD?

Interestingly, Hoffman is the opposite to most. Born and bred in Mackay, but choose to play for his father's homeland.

Eligibility laws are a complete mess.
I thought Tamou and Kasiano were in the same situation as Te'o, but I stand corrected.
I should have done my research instead of using assumptions, as I also believed Benji had gone through the Keebra Park HS system from the start...

Doesn't change my opinion on the eligibility rule, and if Tamou and Kasiano have indeed grown and developped their footy in NSW and Qld respectively, I have no problem with them playing Origin. Same goes for Hoffman and Reed, and indeed not for Te'o or Benji.

We'm sorry but I believe it should be all about where you were born!! and your grassroots..heritage and family background. If you look like a kiwi...then you should be playing for them..I dont care about living here in Oz now or going to school here...the kiwi's are losing touch with their heritage and should have no option to play for Australia..it is beyond a joke now.

I don't really care what they look like. It's what they sound like that makes all the difference for me.

If they still have that completely f*cked up accent, then no.......no origin for you

go away sheep fingerer and come back when you can talk proper.....;-)

You may either talk proper English, or you may talk properly, but to talk 'proper' is a bastardisation or at the very least colloquial and should be noted in writing as such.
