Benji Marshall's Form

I really don't understand all the media hype around Benjis form ATM. St.george are winning games by gritty, committed defence, not out standing half play. In only 2 of their 8 games have they scored more then 2 tries, by my count he hasn't had a try assist the last 2 games.

He isn't playing badly, but I don't see how you can say he is in 'career best form' or as Andrew johns just referred to him 'the form player of the competition.' To me both Dugan and Widdop have out performed him this year, you could even argue Mitch Rein has brought more to the attack then Benji.

His kicking game has been outstanding & guided the team around very well.

Clearly 'that bloke who played for my team but now plays elsewhere is shit' syndrome

Yes I clearly said he is playing shit.

I love benji, he is the best player to ever play for my club. His legacy in my eyes will always be in my eyes as the kid who in 2 years took us from a sponsorless rabble who couldn't attract reserve graders to the most marketable, exciting team in the comp and premiers who were signing current origin players.

At both games he has played against us I've clapped him when the read his name out pre game, I will never boo him.

As someone who hasn't probably watched 95% of his 200 odd first grade I'm also probably a pretty good judge of if he is in career best form. ATM I would say he is solid and playing a part in a winnig team, he isn't playing shit (trust me, I've seen him play shit) but I think he is far from setting the world on fire.

Its not exactly shocking to see the media hyping up Benji.

Been good though, even if he isn't exactly at his lethal attacking best. At least he has cut out all the crappy errors and isn't a turnstile.

He's in 'different' form to 2005-07 benji.

Instead of dishing up rocks and diamonds, he's playing composed and consistent.

His defense has been great.
his attack has been awesome in dry weather. We have had only 2 games in the dry and scored 4 or more trys in both.
U can't expect too much in the conditions he has played in. Maybe the Broncos game but we didn't get in the oppositions 20 too many times that night.

There wasn't a drop in sight at campbelltown.
