What a coup this would be.
Outstanding having somebody like him playing fullback & would have 2-3 good years in him still.
Absolute marketing coup. We would be on free to air every week with Carney & Benji.
Would he play against the Tigers?

Agreed. I would even look at getting him back in the halves. Change of scene would be good. The tigers put a strain on him by pairing him with bums like Moltzen but when it was someone half decent like Lui or Prince, he could play his natural game.

Benji would certainly exploit the hole runners for us. Do we have those? Loots and Feki could benefit. I'm sure Beau would love to run off a few Benji's drifts across the defence. Could see Flash running and inside line diagonally back through the sliding forwards as well.

Unpredictable as ever Reefy. Nice one. Would have predicted you wouldn't touch Benji. Certainly better option at FB than in the halves though. Marketing humbug. Doesn't matter what day we play, free to air or not. We are still the Sharks.

I would prefer Beau at FB. Gordon to the wing and pursue an attacking centre. Doubt Benji will sell himself cheap. Can mess around in Super League for a few years on heaps more and not play his beloved Tigers.

Big risk. Don't think I've seen him have a blinder in 5 years.

Offer him a one bedroom in Gal Tower, and tell him he can see Auckland from there on a clear day.

Problem solved,we have a marketing icon ,someone who can exploit a defence .Gyngell will have us on every Friday night on FTA.

Who gives a stuff about defence ,we are the Sharks defence (= Armed Services),as long as we score more than we let in ,we are the Champions my friend.

C'mon Noycie you know it makes sense.

Benji Marshall's inclusion in the Blues match-day squad is now hanging by a thread.

If Chris Noakes recovers from his concussion suffered in the lacklustre 39-20 defeat to the Hurricanes, which became alarmingly one-sided in the second half, former Kiwis captain Marshall will be on the outer - another big setback in his attempted switch from league to union.

All coach John Kirwan would say yesterday was that he has big decisions to make this week ahead of Friday's match against the Waratahs at Eden Park.

Simon Hickey, dropped for the match in Wellington after a tough time of it against the Brumbies in Canberra, is likely to be brought back to first-five, with Noakes on the reserves bench as cover, if fit.

Noakes failed a concussion test yesterday morning and will have another one today. Kirwan's other option at first-five is Ihaia West, a 22-year-old from Hawkes Bay who has been in the squad for only a week following Baden Kerr's withdrawal with broken fingers.

It is clear that Marshall, who replaced Noakes late in the first half and struggled with his kicking game and leadership of the backline, is no longer seen as an adequate first-five cover.

Kirwan would not be drawn on the player's immediate future, preferring to concentrate on what he wants his side to bring against the Waratahs who will include the dangerous attacking threat of Israel Folau at fullback.

Benji's contributions to a team, off the field, are not worth it. The Tigers last year, the cleanout, the drama with Sheens, all comes back to Benji. Little clique groups.

Its not worth it for a season or two of mostly sub par performances.

Spend the cash more wiseley elsewhere
