"It's not worth talking about," Cowboys coach Paul Green said when told of Bennett's remarks . "We won the comp, so … "

My favourite line of that whole article.

yep it was gold.. I have to admit to being a big Paul Green fan from his time at the Roosters (as a coach, not as a player lol). He is an absolute gun coach. Also really happy for the ex-Roosters players, in particular Antonio Winterstein, Ethan Lowe and John Asiata who plied their trade in the lower grades. Also James Tamou whilst Kane Linnett and Ben Hannant of course played First Grade at the Roosters.

Yeah fair call. I dunno, it's exciting and all (for the winning fans especially), but I feel like such a big occasion deserves extra time.

Yeah I'm not a fan of extra time either.

I'd be happy to go back to draws for regular season games, than 10 minutes each way of extra time before golden point.

Keep reading reports that Bennett is set to lose his job on the rulea committee

Daily Telegraph are the ones reporting it. Story is that the 2 coaches positions on the committee are, for next year, to be filled by vote of the first grade coaches. Tele are reporting that Robinson is well liked by his peers and will retain his spot whilst Bennett is not liked and is likely to be voted out. So Bennett wants the rules of the game to stay the same as they were when he won titles ?

Maybe go back to the original rules where no points were awarded for a try.

"His complaints, though, about golden point were disrespectful to the Cowboys. He raised it before any reporter put it to him."

So he wasn't really pressed about it. It is a bit of sour grapes then from Bennett I suppose, and I think he realized it after he said it when he said he was happy for the Cowboys. Disappointing but kind of understandable.

Much as I dont like Bennett and think he is a sore loser, the replay idea has some merit, imo. You could play any replay a week later in brisbane thus giving them a grand final without Sydney losing out.

Replays are impractical these days. With rep matches scheduled after the Grand Final in many years, how can you add in yet another game to this time of year? The players don't want a replay, I think you will find they want it settled on the day.

Also factor in that there is no guarantee that the grounds would be available for a replay. For example, this weeks see the start of the A-League, so a number of grounds would be unavailable for rugby league at short notice.

Finally have a look at the replays. Both replayed rugby league grand finals were lopsided affairs. Even the last replayed AFL Grand Final was. Sorry but the days of GF replays are done and gone in my book.

How ripped off would you feel if you went to watch your side in a GF, they have a draw and you can't afford/have other commitments the following week?
Then they go on to win.
Replays are not feasible.

Are you for real?
To fork out $1500-$2000 on airfares / accomodation / tickets /game day costs etc & not get a result is plainly stupid .
Then be expected to do the same a week later is laughable .
Working class people cannot afford to do this ...as well as having more time off work .

We all can't be on high 6 figure salaries like Wayne .
Plus players can be lost due to injury or suspension ,so a replay is not a good idea..

Dumbest idea ever .

lol, did you not take notice of the fallout from fumbleball having one in 2010?

The captain of the team that went on to win the replay called it an absolute joke.
