Best "budget" recruit in Warriors history

Brent Webb deserves a mention, plucked from Qld Cup, would've been on bugger all. Richard Villisanti too, until injuries and personal demons got to him.

Not sure if Luck qualifies, he was probably on decent coin.

Jason Death for me. He would've come here on very little but over the years in NZ, he would've certainly moved back up the pecking order. Unsure if moved into star quality, but for the Wartiors, he kind've took on legendary status.

True, we were slated as spoon certainties and squeaked into the 8, was a great season really and set us up for a serious premiership tilt in the next few seasons.

And had an important role in the Ropati/Vatuvei/Witt try at Melbourne in '08. He got the ball back from the in-goal with great momentum, which got our final set rolling with the required urgency.

Kirk was legendary in those games

Kirk deserved that runaway try to seal the finals win over the Roosters at Mt Smart in '08. I love it when an honest toiler gets the glory.

Just gettng back to the Storm final that year, Kirk's return from the in-goal is consistent with what PW said, he was a lion-hearted competitor who never gave up. The commentators said 'it's a long way for the Warriors to travel (in our last set)', but we made it.

Quite a few. In the context of what happened in that 2010-11 period Maloney deserves a massive mention.

Others would come from our successful periods for mine with the likes of Webb, Faumuina and Carlaw. All three were major parts of why we were so good in 2002-03.
