Yeah, Maloney is hard to beat - been a lot though (of course I don't know salaries) - Maloney, Carlaw, Webb, Luck, presumably Guttenbeil early given his injuries?

Loving Ayshford for this though as everyone expected him to be mud (unlike Maloney who was regarded relatively highly) and Ayshford has been very good, and really helped the team - in the same year that Luke and RTS was signed, he's been (IMO) the most valuable of the three to date (of course RTS is hurt, so there's a caveat)

Whether he was a bargain or not I feel really sorry for Lee Oudenryn, who played for us from 1997 to 2000.

Can you imagine a worse era?

How about George Gatis? He worked in a fish and chips shop while he played for us, didn't he?

Georgie was a legend. Absolute tip top bloke and could play. In fact we've had so many good cut-price hookers - Mears, Henderson probably wasn't too cheap but went well, Heremaia went to a GF playing good footy, Death...

If I remember correctly Oudenryn was injured for a while, and then ran his nuts off for us.
Lot's of enthusiasm in a completely dud team.

i was gonna mention Oudenryn too, just for the fact he was a good guy and wanted see his name popping up in a thread like this. I remember he used to cook Thai Food in the Royal Oak mall on the side while playing for the Warriors. Quite tasty too.
