A captain doesn't abandon his ship though ;)

PS. Raiders fans are fun to stir. They love to poke at other teams and their players but can't take criticism directed at their own ;-)

On a serious note. The performances week in, week out by Ben Kennedy and Andrew Ryan are not matched by any other captain. It's a pity Cameron Smith aint a captain, he would hands down win it. Storm look like they have no direction without him on the field. With him though, they are almost unbeatable.

Spoken like a man who hasnt watched many raiders games
schif's performances as an individula and as a captain leading his team have been nothing short of faultless

Johns for sure, he's so passionate. The team always lifts when he's out there. He's a perfect captain.

Wrong. It's spoken like a guy who is blinded by his love for one team. Goddamn. You Raiders fans are seriously deluted. I've watched plenty of Raiders games. I watched the Panthers smash the Raiders at home, and Clinton Shifcofske did nothing to impress me at all. You guys should have mopped the floor with us.

I watched the Souths game also... yep, he lead his team brilliantly around the field. Likewise against the Knights and Roosters earlier on in the year. He has had some shocking games, and some great games. His consistancy has been nothing compared to Andrew Ryan and Ben Kennedy. They're consistant, and keep their teams somewhat consistant also.

Ben Kennedy is amazing for his team. As is Cameron Smith. Those 2 guys seriously change their teams... just like Andrew Johns. Take those 3 guys off the field, you have a pack of geniuss running around that would get owned by nearly any team. Put them in... and the team just clicks. Shifcofske isn't always on his game. He doesn't have the same effect Cameron Smith or Ben Kennedy have on their team. Andrew Ryan has a brilliant team and so his effects aren't quiet as immediately obvious as the other 2 guys.

Apparently it's insulting to not think Clinton Shifcofske is the best captain. There have been too many sh*t performances from the Raiders for Shifcofske to be the best captain. Too much inconsistancy. (getting smashed by the Souths one week, to go and smash the Broncos? etc.)

Is there an award for worst captain??? I think Trenty Barrett would have that one in the bag-6 wins straight without him playing, 5 straight losses and counting with him leading the team...coincidence?

Trent Barrett is a shoe-in.

For such a good player. He sure makes his team play sh*t. Definitely the worst captain. He is a solid second-in command when he plays behind Joey in origin... but as the leader. The losses speak for themselves.

You know. Barrett and Kimmorley kinda make me feel better about Tony Puletua as captain.

He might not be a great captain. But he doesn't make the team lose by being on the field :) LOL.

Some of the worst sh*t I've ever read.

How did Melbourne go when Smith was away for Origin? How was Manly on Friday night for the last 30 mins when Kennedy went off (That's all I've got)? I've got nothing for Newcastle and no Johns.

We're learning to play without Kennedy, but the bloke is simply huge on and off the field. If we can stay in the top 4, he's a moral for the Dally M captain of the year imo.

Tend to agree but i'll throw Nathan Cayless' name up again. The way he has conducted himself through adversity has amazed me!

How did Storm go against Sharks when Cameron Smith left the field? The team got shaken up badly... Sharks were actually able to match it with them.

Sea Eagles... they have a good team. Ben Kennedy gives them a bit of direction. Inspiration. And takes them forward. Without him, they have the guys to win games.... but they don't look like they can when he aint on the field. Sitting 30mins out in a game he had already motivated them in... put them in with a chance etc. is a poor example.

Compare them with him, to a game without him at all. Knights faired pretty well without Joey on the field also... when he was taken off mid game to rest him. Take him out of the entire game... they have nothing.

We'll lend you a front rower or two if you guys lend the Broncos a halfback, doesn't have to be great, just a halfback:(.
