Here's my ratings and why:
15. Langmack
Even if he can coach, his politics destroy what good he does, sacked by August 30.
14. Smith
Suffers from Warren Ryan syndrome - Two successful years at a club then the most hated man in the organisation. Look at who he's let go...If not for his Denis Fitz blind love he'd be more dead than King Tutt
13. Brown
Not a coaches backside, way to emotional. Any Success Saints have had has been not from coaching. Yells at Players for getting injured!!! Doesn't get it. If not for the talent at the club Dragons would be last...
12. Hasler
Unproven still I think, thus his position
11. Raper
See above, however he has pulled a team in tatters to a reasonable position
10. Murray
Didn't deserve to be sacked when at the Roosters, I rated him highly in the past however, Cowboys performances this year have brought down my opinion of him they should have built on last year but instead have dropped..
9. Folkes
Bad people person... Got a team that should have to the semis and they've choked on a couple of occasions.. Anyone could have got a team with that much talent to the semis... A good coach would have got them further...
8. Anderson
Last year would have been much higher, took a side of renegade talents and made it work... What's happend?
7. Elliot
Canberra are a well coached side, he gets the most out of what he has available. In the last years they may not have set the world on fire but they have made the semis by beating those near them on the ladder and following a game plan
6. Bellamy
Even with a massive injury count particulary to key players last year he got them to the semis. They followed game plans and beat sides they shouldn't have. Sign of a well coached side. People say Saints haven't competed because of injuries, I'd like to see what Bellamy would have done with the side Brown has had..
5. Stuart
Obviously a good coach, but, does anyone remeber when he first became coach and the Rooster lost 3 on the trot and there was all that controversy about Gould running the training sessions? Gould attacked Andy Raymond (fox journo)? I knew Ricky as a player he was the biggest smart arse and I don't buy this arrogance to the media etc, that's come from Gould no doubt... The fact he lost last years GF a game such a clinical side should have won, shows that they were prepared badly add that to Phils puppetry and that's why he's not higher.
4. Sheens
Call me biased however, firstly his early Canberra days were stellar.. His later Canberra days were hampered by key injuries. Cowboys days I discount as he had to deal with a volitile board. His Class has been shown at the tigers. He's taken a side that was voted "Worst club to play for" 02 and 03 (while he was busy signing players), a club with the worst PR in the comp (Hoppa, Field, Langmack and McGuiness sagaa) and made them competitive and attractive to sponsors and a real chance of catching clubs with 5 X the money and resources.. Respect!
3. Bennett
Without doubt a great coach but look at the players he's had it his diposal... Massive talent pool and they sign every junior in sight and to equal all the success stories there is more broken dreams from Broncos Jnrs than any other club. If you throw a net as wide as the ocean of course you'll catch something. He's a great coach but the above is why he's not higher..
2. Lang
He'd be 1 if not for his cronulla years, so many piss weak semis performances, last year though awesome.
1. Hagan
Won a GF in his first year, that was good.. But the way he's built newcastle over the past few years has been awesome. Just when everyone thought Newcastle were gone this year he proved they can do it without Johns. Speaks well, doesn't bitch, takes the knocks, doesn't panic knows about teamwork.. Broncos game, they lost Hughes, lost Kennedy, they kept composure, people stepped up, them played for each other and got the money. Sign of a well coached team.

   So Sheens gets the excuse of having to deal with a volatile board, whilst no one else gets any sort of excuse for their failings...... attractive to sponsors? you have a company that makes a bad tasting herbal hang over recovery soft drink & a noodle manufacturer as your sponsors..... not exactly blue chip long term contracts. When Wests sign a deal with a well respected company that is willing to have their logo on a Wests jersey, i think you gave then give credit where it is due.

As I said call me biased you have every right to state your opinions. I'm a one eyed tiges fan,,, whats your excuse.... 3 years with Herbal world etc beat one year with Raddison maine... Rather than attacking my BIASEd opinion of Sheens why don't you justify your calls.... Once again I did state my BIASED OPINION the easiest target... Funny you decided to attack the easy target... but didn't justify the rest...

I'm one eyed so what!

the 4th best coach in the comp would have been able in two years to coach his side to either:

a) win two on the trot
b) beat Souths.

Your top three are spot on, but you could debate the order. Sticky and Bellamy are there or abouts too.

Ok, i will. However the comment about Herbal World is only in desperation..... Raddison Maine was a dodgy finance broker/financial planner/developer, so it is fair to say that a 3 year contract with a tampon company on the front of your jersey would be doing better than last year.

HMMM i wonder if he might be offered another contract .
he certainly knows his way to the line and is a class act .

Its alot of guess work involved rating coaches, they probably dont even know themselves where they rate due the cattle they have.

All i think is Sheens is the right man for our club.

He only made himself available again because he didn't make the Fire Brigade.. He's going for again at the end of the season.. If he makes it he won't be back...
