modern day:

drums: Phil Selway (Radiohead)
bass: Nick Oliveri (ex-QOTSA)
lead: Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam)
singer: man...torn between Thom Yorke or Ed Vedder...i'll go with Ed.
Throw in Ben Ottewell from Gomez on guitar and back up vocals just for his unique voice.

Half right, Ron. He and his wife have been married since 1964, but it looks like, while everyone was watching Keith amd Mick living to excess, they missed Charlie's consumption patterns. Still he's a great drummer.

"(D)rugs are very hard to give up. For me, anyway. I didn't even take that many. I wasn't that badly affected, I wasn't a junkie, but giving up (amphetamines and heroin) was very, very hard. Much, much harder than the rest of it... (I stopped when) I slipped down the steps when I was in the cellar getting a bottle of wine... (I)t really brought it home to me how far down I'd gone. I just stopped everything - drinking, smoking, taking drugs, everything, all at once. I just thought, enough is enough.

What kind of genius calls the longest serving rock drummer in history a genius?

Wake up to yourself, idiot.

f**k YES! Somebody other than me has the good sense to suggest the Riddim Twins.

Reggae themed

Sly Dunbar- drums
Robbie Shakespeare- bass
Bob Marley- guitar and backing vocals
Michael Rose (Black Uhuru)- lead vocals
Augustus Pablo- mouth organ (or whatever it is you call it, I can't think of what it is actually called)
Isiah 'Ikey' Owen (Sublime and The Mars Volta among others)- keyboards
Lee 'Scratch' Perry- dub versions and production!

Punk-ish

Mike Ness (Social Distortion) guitar and vocals
Chris Cheney (The Living End) guitars [swap the lead and rythm duties between those 2....both fantasic guitarists but Ness has a better voice!]
Topper Headon (The Clash)- drums
Paul Simonon (The Clash)- bass

Rock

Dan Auerbach and Pat Carney- collectively known as The Black Keys on lead guitars/vocals and drums respectively.
Paul McCartney- bass
