Big horror movie fan keen to watch some horror movies that aren't recent and are considered great but aren't I guess generic, like Halloween, or friday 13th, nightmare of elm street etc.

Sorry if this thread has been done before but my search function isn't working.

Just wondering if people can name some, any from pre-year 2000

Scared the cr@p out of me but hell it was confusing.

Never Dead/ Phantasm series with the Dark Man

And the classic City of The Living Dead scene.

Suspiria
Bloodsucking Freaks

there are so many more that i cant think of at the moment, suffice it to say that if the directors name is either Romero or Argento then you're on a winner MOST times

Not sure if they are more Thrillers but I enjoyed Scream and I Know what you did last summer when they came out.
Also, Chopping Mall!

Phantasm was released in Australia as the Never Dead. There were something like 3 sequels with the Tall Man and his balls.

The old Christopher Lee vampire movies scared me as a kid as well as Count Yorga

Oh yeah Stephen King's Silver Bullet - best werewolf movie. Up there with the Howling.

And who can forget the original Fright Night with Roddy McDowell - best vampire movie.

Dawn of the Mummy - best mummy movie pre Brendan Fraser

And this one scared me as a kid. An African doll comes to life and goes full genius.
