Oh I see,

On a "local" level i would say Melbourne psychobilly/hardcore/punk act Blacklodge Sounds (used to be called Kingpin 440)....

Band's playing is tight as a drum with awesome songs!

Best list I've seen on here ... with the exception of Slipknot

jesus christ if The Living End and Area 7 are the best you can come up with as Best Live Band in Australia you need to see more music...

That was aimed at me!

I don't go to many live acts... 2-3 a year at most.

Another great show i saw was 'The Bens' a few years ago - Ben Folds, Ben Lee and Ben Kweller. They played some solo stuff each and came togeather at various points to do some covers (including a brilliant 'I Touch Myself') and some new stuff. Awesome stuff. As it was at the Enmore, you could also get up really close to the stage as there were no barriers or anything - i was at the front and could touch their shoes! :D

1. Metallica, Syd Ent Cent, 2004
2. The Mars Volta, Metro, 2004

Then there's a lot of daylight. These two bands were just miles ahead of any other bands I've seen from a live perspective.

I've seen plenty of good live bands over the years but I won't name them all. Some faves include: Gospel of the Horns, Portal, Strapping Young Lad, Sepultura, Opeth, Fantomas, A Perfect Circle, Dillinger Escape Plan. List could go on...

Axel has a few issues - he said about seven years ago he would be releasing a new Gunners album (with him being the only remaining member) but of course we're all still waiting. I can't imagine it being any good.

Sydney showground

the stage was about 40 metres from the crowd who were on the hill behind the fence

Zep entered the grounds in 4 separate white merceded benz

when they started playing, we all jumped the fence and charged at the stage (roughly about 40,000 of us) security could not hold everyone back so they just let us go and we sat right in front of the band, about 5 metres from the band

no idea what year, late 60s sometime, I was still at school then
