White Chicks? Bwahahahahahahahaha

Howl's Moving Castle was a highlight at the Sydney FF as Miyazaki is my favourite director. Even though I found it quite disappointing, it's still an amazing film.

Fantastic Four and The Island were recent ones, and I was pleasantly surprised with both.

I can't remember anything else I've seen this year. No doubt it'll come to me later.

Whats the matter with you ? Yes it was funny, I thought it was, respect that..

Sideways, then Sin City.

I usually share your tastes, but I just couldn't get into Sideways. Had a superb cast and a good enough plot, it just didn't effect me like I thought it would. Came out feeling entertained, but far from changed.

I thought it was good, and there was some great acting, but I didn't get the "brilliant" vibe.

I'd probably have to say The Jacket, 15 mins in I thought it wasn't looking too good, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sin City I thought was a terrible movie, besides Jessica Alba I can't think of anything redeeming about it.

That's the best way to spot an 'average' filmgoer. They remember the performance (haha) of a great looking girl, but little else. I bet you loved Titanic too. :p

I saw The Island on Wednesday and thought it was a great movie....but I haven't seen enough movies this year to say which is the best.....for my sons sake, I'm looking forward to taking him to see 'Narnia'!

Umm, Sideways = 04?

Anyway, yeh, Sideways is easily better than any movie I've seen this year. On a totally different level to Sin City.

Sin City has to be the best movie of 2005. Batman Begins comes in at #2. Star Wars Ep. III would have to be the most disappointing movie of the year.

I could have sworn I saw Sideways in the cinemas in March 2005 - the reason I mentioned it...

It definitely didn't come out in March, I saw it at the cinemas with a mate who went overseas in late January. I'm not sure when it came out exactly but I'm pretty sure I saw it within a week or so of it's release so it is most likely an 05 release.

With the internet though, you can download movies months ahead of their worldwide release let alone the Aussie release. Not like I'd ever do that though. *whistles nonchalantly*

Man on Fire sucked, ffs. I've seen that movie 100 times in different incarnations.

Sideways is my favourite 04 movie but seeing as we're coming down to technicalities of Australian release dates, Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is my favourite of 04.

I assume you mean *Eternal* Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? Close to my favourite movie of all time, regardless of what year we're discussing.
