ET
Why?
Well, the following stats have probably been posted in previous threads, but here goes anyway.

#He played with the Sharks for the whole of his career
#He played over 300 first grade games
#He played Fullback, Wing, Centre and 5/8 for the Sharks
#He scored 165 tries for the Sharks in 1st grade (Third on the NRL all time first grade tryscoring list)
#He twice scored 5 tries in a 1st grade match (1989 against Illawarra and 1994 against The Rabbits)
#He is the second most capped NSW State of Origin player
#He went on 2 Kangaroo tours (1990 and 1994) and was the leading tryscorer on both tours
# He was named Dally M centre of the year twice (1994 and 1996)

They are impressive stats for a footballer. If any of the stats that I have presented are wrong, then please feel free to correct me. I only saw Steve Rogers play towards the end of his career and as such did not see him at his best. Older members on this forum would say Steve Rogers was the best Shark that they have seen and fair enough. But, it is ET for me.

Steve Rogers....without a doubt. Followed by ET andTommy Bishop. After that, quite a number, Pierce, Miller, Watson, Sorenson, etc.

I want to chuck my hand up for Gal followed by ET, reason being as most of the other guys that have been listed were brickies or carpenters etc.

These days they are professional athletes, they do nothing else but football, and Gal is the best, longest standing Aus rep we have had for ages.

Sir Thomas Bishop #1

Daylight second....

Sludge third ... young cent. kicked off under Sir Thomas.

Then the pack Miller, ET, Kurt and Dane, Pierce, Kneen, Big Cliffy, Slippery Arms McMartin, Vincey Farrar.

Cheers

A very subjective topic.

Firstly, in my opinion, I would eliminate any player who has played for another club.

Some of these "greatest" Sharks ever did leave the club for more money.

For that alone, I would consider ET to be the greatest Shark ever. He stayed with the club through some extremely lean times in the heights of his powers.

Balmain tabled a massive offer when they were on the verge of winning the competition and he stuck by the club.

I appreciate that we may have has "better footballers" but ET for mine IS the greatest Shark ever.

ET for me

He was and still is Cronulla through and through.

Sludge, Bishop and Miller the others I would name.

Cannot fault ET. 300 games one club, tests, SoO.

What a centre pairing Steve and Andrew would have made
