The fact that a 20/20 side is still paying a guy like Gilkes for 20/20 cricket is a bit of a head scratcher.

For a team to have any sort of success in this format, every batter (as well as some of the bowlers) have to have the ability to find the rope. Throughout his 20/20 history, Gilkes is just not a boundary hitter. Yes, he can rotate the strike but he does not do much at all to hurt the opposition. I felt the Thunder absolutely missed a trick by not bringing in Green/Sams to do some heavy hitting at the stage of the innings in which Gilkes was brought in. Fortunately for them, it didn't cost them.

As for Tom Andrews, I have some advice for the Thunder. If you HAVE to play him, don't use him for the last over. The vast majority of Bash sides would have taken him down tonight.
