Big crowd expected for Origin 2

MEMO Darren Lockyer and Queensland: The "House Full" sign is ready to be posted at ANZ Stadium for the first time in six years. Buoyed by the Blues' brave performance in the opening match, The Daily Telegraph can reveal that State of Origin II at Homebush on June 15 is within days of being an 82,000 sell-out.

Tired of hearing about Queensland's passion and pride, the Blue Army is on the march. As of last night, 76,000 seats had been sold or committed, with ANZ Stadium officials believing the remaining 6000 will be snapped up within the next week.

A lot has been said about NSW crowds in the past but credit where it's due that's the support we all like to see.

Hopefully it's a sell out.

But its not 104K is it Pete

Seriously though, its great to see the Blues being supported in Sydney. A pity it has taken 5 series in a row for it to happen

Don't know why you bothered to bring this up in a thread where I'm acknowledging the decent turn out.

If you really want to go there, Queensland fans still bought more tickets faster than NSW fans did.

Origin Rivalries

80's
Lewis v Kenny
90's
Langer v Stuart
2000's
Lockyer v Joey
2010's
Who has more fans buy the most tickets the fastest.

Ohhh yeah.

Why would anyone discuss a lock with a halfback from different eras to boot?!

Should be a good crowd. Heading in nice and early for this one grab my wig, shirt and a beer and enjoy it!

It will be a sell-out but it won't hit capacity as you always get a few no shows.etc.

Go NSW :)

Good stuff.

For all QLD's hooting and hollering NSW has still outsold QLD in SOO every single year when origin comes around.

Be interesting to see how QLD would fair with an 82,000 seat stadium to fill under similar circumstances

I have no doubts they could fill an 82k Suncorp Stadium. This, however, is a great effort by Sydneysiders, considering the amount of NRL matches played in the Harbour City within a month, let alone a year. Btw Qlders, our NRL tickets don't come with subsidised transport either.

Well done NSW fans. I hope the Qlders don't spank them too early so that the fans can enjoy most of the game. Give them some hope.

Well they were struggling to fill a 50k seat Suncorp less than a decade ago.... so its not a forgone conclusion, especially if they'd lost a few series in a row.

Less than a decade ago? We've been selling out Suncorp since 1998.
