Almost got tickets for this, but with dad paying, prices for the best tickets were enourmous (270 between us, thats an air fair) for seats along way from the action, and the next catagory back were also average seats. Glad it should sell out tho.

sorry if repost,

State of Origin officially sold-out

The ‘House Full’ sign has gone up at ANZ Stadium for a Harvey Norman State of Origin match for the first time since 2005.

Such is the excitement building around the NSW VB Blues’ quest to end Queensland’s bid for a record sixth straight series, more than 82,000 fans have purchased tickets for Wednesday night’s epic showdown – including 10,000 blue wig Blatchy’s Blues supporters and several thousand Maroons Crusade fans.

“This is shaping up as one of the great matches in Origin history and the capacity crowd says a lot about how NSW fans have embraced their team and their passion for State of Origin,” ARL Chief Executive, Mr Geoff Carr, said today.

“The colour in the stands will be something to behold with two fanatical supporter groups dressing in wigs and t-shirts and 40,000 Blues bandanas to be distributed on the night.”

ANZ Stadium Managing Director, Mr Daryl Kerry, said: “State of Origin is one of our biggest and best events and Game 2 is shaping up as one of the finest we’ve seen.

“We congratulate the NSW team, led by Ricky Stuart, and the thousands of supporters who have helped make Origin 2 the hottest ticket in town.

“ANZ Stadium is a sight to behold when it’s packed with passionate, colourful fans and the vibe will be unbeatable here on Wednesday night. Let’s hope the crowd can help the Blues even the series ledger.”

The biggest Origin crowd to attend a match in Sydney was 88,336 in Game 2 of the 1999 series at the same venue – then named Stadium Australia.

Since the redesign of the venue following the Sydney Olympics, the biggest Origin crowd in Sydney has been 82,487 set in 2004, when NSW scored a 36-14 win in the Game 3 decider.

Heaps of tickets still available in A and B reserve if you hurry. My guess is a few got returned due to the ash cloud and poor weather. Get in guys!

Among the dumbest comments I've ever read on these forums... Firstly, what are you basing this on? Second, we will never know as we are limited to 52k, but we are always able to sell 105,000 tickets in a matter of hours, where as you guys often struggle to break 70,000 even when it's your only origin for the year.

I love it when people disregard vital parts of an argument so that their comment has more gumption.

If QLD were staring down the barrel of 6 lost series' in a row, you would struggle to sell out Suncorp.

I love that the dickhead thinks 52,000 x 2 = 105,000

Probably closer than most QLDers would get though.
