After months of speculation, it would seem that Blink-182 are now confirmed to play the 2011 Big Day Out. Rumours have persisted that the pop-rockers were extremely likely to appear at next years festival, but a premature tweet from Channel V host Danny Clayton has served to confirm suspicions.
Blink 182 are playing at Big Day Out. This is going to be the best BDO since 2000, Clayton posted on his Twitter last night.
That revelatory post was followed by several bashful tweets that, despite suggesting the presenter had since been reprimanded, didnt seek to deny his initial claim.

There has been no official word from Big Day Out as yet, although organisers last week gave the vague hint that one of the headliners would be from California. Given Blink reside in that very part of world, the rumour would seem to carry reasonably substantial weight.
The recently reformed band are no strangers to the festival, having played at the 2000 BDO.
The first official line-up announcement will be made later in the month on Tuesday, the 28th of September.
