lol dude you baffle me sometimes.

Lauaki hasn't played NRL in 6 years, and last year he only played 6 games for Wigan, 5 of them off the bench!

Ah Mau is twice the player. Lauaki is depth at best.

you could be right in regards to Lauaki, but definitely wrong with Ah mau..
Ah mau is no better than a depth signing as well..

see the thing here is that the dragons still think they have Bennett as coach when perfoming their recruitment...
A guy like this .. 30 odd years old, warming the bench at other clubs , dirt cheap signing is where BEnnett could get 120% out of the player, and next thing you know we have a really good bench player adding impact costing nothing.. eg.. Costigan/Saffy/Latimore etc etc...

Price however cant get fringe players to rise to the occasion, flat out getting the elite players to perform....

Man did you have to do that? He finally posts something (almost) positive and you ruin it with facts. Sheeesh.

I think we're all going to be a bit disappointed. He's Mickey Paea (or however it's spelled) level at best and he's being added to an already weak forward roster.
I loved Mickey Paea fruity. Thought he was strong for us under Bennett. Wanted him to stay.
Went to shit at the Dogs though.

I believe Latimore came to us in 2012 after Bennett had left...

If this guy is as big and aggressive as he looks, and plays with that mongrel we have been missing for so long now he should add some size and fear factor to our smallish pack

the point is that Bennett could get more from cheap fringe players (whether he signed them or they were already there). I think the dragons still have the same mentality with most of their signings but find it harder to implement without the same abilities in the coaching staff..

Bennett transforming the Dragons from near the bottom into a premiership force in 2009 to 2011 rates up there with the greatest coaching performances in history and from memory he never even won coach of the year in those years is pretty shocking. He came, he broke the hoodoo for us and I am certain he would have broken Souths hoodoo too if he had went there in 2012. Now uncle Wayne has become a bit of a villain here because of his poaching though........but still what a legend.

I agree essentially, but "near the bottom" is simply wrong. We were in the top 8 pretty much every season of the decade including the year before he took over. It was a quality team he put the finishing touches on.
