They're making sure it finishes before the NRL season kicks off or we'll be seeing more of those familiar A-League crowds of 2-3,000...

you have obviously never been to a Sydney FC game before...

So they'll get more for the final than the first game of the RL season. Good for them. I'm not being srcastic, I'd love to see the A League prosper. But they're different seasons and I don't think that's a fluke.

I guess it makes up for the distinct lack of action on the field.

Thats why International matches produce the best sporting atmospheres in the world.

Yes, but not for the reason you're thinking. It's to fall into line with the FIFA calendar.

You need to get out more.

No he doesn't. Just because you don't agree with perth sharkie, doesn't mean they're wrong.

A League is great - it's a unique atmosphere. If you don't like it - no one is asking you to. Just cause you don't like it, and you think the tigers game would "rate" more than the A League GF doesn't mean anything because your wearing tigers coloured sunglasses.

Driving down Leichardt yesterday, (Tigers territory right) and seeing a sea of blue, FORZA SYDNEY FC. I'd say the A League is alive and kicking.

Get over it, the whole doesn't revolve around the Tigers.

LOL spot the poster who has never been to Lang Park at Origin time.

It is an unfair comparison though, one stadium holds much more than the other.

You're kidding yourself idiot, if you think the FFA wouldn't go head to head if that was how the FIFA calendar dictated. Not having to compete with the NRL is just a bonus.

Whatever the case, they would get absolutely obliterated if they were competing with both the NRL and AFL. It would be absolutely ugly.

I wonder how many of those who went today will be buying tickets in coming years if there was a soccer GF at Aussie Stadium again. I mean once the hype of the 'new dawn' for soccer and the novelty of the inaugraul A-League comp has worn off. I say this because when the Northern Spirit NSL team first came in they had sell out crowds too but a few years pass and the Spirit crowds were measured in 100's not 10000's and now the team no longer exists.

Well, the bar has been set for the Tigers first home game to get at least 41,690 bums on seats. Not because it really matters, just to see if we can match it with these young upstarts.
