Biggest “Classic Sydney City Roosters” Moment

I love these kinds of threads.

My classic "Roosters Moment" is in the 2010 grand final when Dean Young clearly bobbles the ball into the arm of Mitchell Aubisson, regathers and scores which gets sent up to the video ref.
After almost a dozen views, it then gets awarded BOD try which clears the stands of Roosters fans and ends any hope of a fairytale.

Yeh, that and Morris was in. Ahh, memories .

My new favourite Roosters moment might be the sense of entitlement which makes the 3 Roosters fans tell other footy fans that their own personal "classic Roosters moment" is nah isn't so, you are!

Classic Roosters.
Yeah a little unfair of us to question your delusions. Now that you say it I do remember being very sombre that evening.

Roosters best moment was winning the Grand Final in 2002 against the Warriors when Craig Fitzgibbon still had hair, once he went bald the Roosters didn't win another comp...

Ah you may want to clarify that comment as 2013, 2018 and 2019 say "hi", especially as Fitzgibbon was an Assistant Coach for all three of those.

The moment I personally feel just summed the Roosters up was a bit of empty one, for a number of reasons.

2019 GF, there with my mates and family. Great atmosphere, a pulsating game with a number of exciting and controversial moments (the fact they all skewed Roosters isn't even my main point).

It's just that afterwards- no passion from the Roosters fans in the ground. Most of them even left immediately for the train, if not a minute early. A premiership won by a team with a barely fan base that barely cared. No scenes, no tears, no hollering, no "lets go party 'til January!!!", just a humdrum trip back to Randwick & Vaucluse... for the games hollow men.

Yeah, a Raiders fan saying that EASTS lack a soul! Blimey. I would have found some comfort in being beaten by a club that cared, that mattered. I could have gazed at the jubilation, the hugging, the f**k YEAH and had a pang of jealously and imagine it might one day be my clubs turn again. But there was just grey, characterless ho hum.

That's the Roosters for ya.

A pitiful attempt at trolling. Because if all the Roosters fans left at full time then who were the wombats booing fighting getting the cc medal?

Just like the raiders, you need to try harder if you are to be successful

There have been some classic roosters 'are no hope' moments during the last 3 premierships.

Do you remember when SBW was the biggest dud buy ever, maloney was average and robbo couldn't coach in February 2013?

Newcastle giving us a touch up last year was another one.

2013 was an epic meltdown by opposition fans. Before the season they said we had a mediocre roster, but once we started winning they said it was obvious that we were over the Cap? If it was so obvious then why were they saying our roster was crap?

"Clearly" according to you!

Fair try for mine. Different angles couldn't confirm either way, and the ball doesn't change it's movement (ie - deflected with contact off Aubusson) before Young re-secures it. Ref's couldn't see a reason to overturn it, try!

I know this goes against the theme of the thread, and you can go join Warren Smith and Greg Alexander in the complaints box if you wish! About the only try they didn't go off about that game was the one that actually shouldn't have been allowed to occur in the first place - Gasniers!

That thread is a classic.

After we lost to the Dragons on Anzac Day 2018 they were declared April Premiers and we were written off :D

They were the best of times. They were the most amusing of times.
I had a great time at that game. When Fergo spilled his lollies and Nene went over it was always going to be our day. Suffice to say in the game later in the year I was mortified to see Latrell destroy our right side and effectively ended Euan Aitken's origin dream and Jason Nightingale's career.

The refs were terrible that day for both sides, but I didn't care what went our way that day and I don't feel an ounce of remorse for being greedy over it. If we had lost that game I would have been a complete mess (even moreso than now).

I was there, high up in the eastern grandstands. When Easts scored that try off the lost ball into the in-goal my stomach just turned. Then behind at half-time we were out the back with thousands of folks, so many dragons fans sucking down nervous darts and gloomily sipping on $10 plastic cup beers... it was grim..

Anyway we got the win, I got to see us win a GF. After seeing us lose 5 before it.

Thought I’d come on the internet, specifically a thread about Roosters to let you know I don’t give a shit about them. Oh and I hate them. But I don’t give a shit about ‘em awroight?
Yes it is strange, this whole infatuation with our club. Let’s get real here. It’s hardly the Roosters fault if other teams can’t keep up with the times. It’s not 1980 anymore and unfortunately for some clubs there’s no such thing in the NRL as a McDonalds participation award.

Another classic Roosters moment: When Latrell made Chambers his bitch in the 2018 grand final.
Anytime the Roosters end the Storm's season always brings the neutrals together.
Nick should have got a $30000 ring from the NRL to commemorate his services to the rugby league community.

That night, my erection was visible from space.

Haven't read through the thread but if Anasta at fullback isn't the winner then I'm deadset not here
I had it second behind the one marker experiment

Honestly i still sometimes randomly think about the one marker games and start cackling like a loon..

2002 prelim chooks received the first 7 penalties. We received our first and only penalty with 1 minute to go. Then watching the warriors get stitched up in the grand final.

St George Illawarra had only been in one grand final before 2010 when they lost to Melbourne in 1999.
