Biggest Hit of the Season just happened.

it was massive contact but i dont exactly know how its a great hit?? To me a great hit is when someone is driven from the ribs or a good clean shoulder charge.

This was a head clash and thats exactly what you want to be avoiding on the field. Ropati went in for a shoulder and made a meal of it, hes just lucky that he came out of it better.

Spot on. It may be the biggest colission of the year, but not the biggest hit in my books, because I don't class head clashes as big hits

The biggest hits of the year for me that spring to mind would be Setu on Manu, Matai on Harris, ??? on Laurie etc

It was just like the Kidwell/Mason hit that had Kiwi's crowing for months. The head clash did all the work. Had there been no contact from Ropati's head Clinton probably would have trundled on for a few metres after J.Ro bounced away.

Gotta admire the courage for Ropati to take on a front rower like that.

Massive hit no doubt, though I think it's debateable when talking about the biggest hit of all-time. I still hold the Wally Lewis hit on Darryl Williams in an '88 Test as the biggest. No shoulder charge, a copy book front on hit that rocked all and sundry.

I agree it was the head clash which did all the damage. Was a colisson not a hit

Turn it up! Best/biggest hit of the year/ever? Pffft.

It was the biggest head clash I've seen in some time. There were at least three hits in that game alone which were bigger genuine hits. Would hardly have been noticed if it didn't knock Clinton out. Non-event.

I prefer Matulino's hit on Matt Hilder earlier this year. Matulino smashed him with a text book ripper of a tackle.

The best I've seen from an at ground perspective was Richard Villasanti on Ashley Graham, Warriors/Parra, Parra Stadium 2004. Villasanti sent Graham into 2023 with a copy book tackle/mad hit.

Ropati must have a head made of granite, he was also the bloke that broke Joey's jaw with a headclash in 2005

Head Clash, poor hit really. Lucky not to knock himself out too.

Plenty of proper hits this year.

Gee I hope Clinton's ok...
That was a huge headclash and Clinton was frothing on the ground - I really hate seeing that because it means it's fairly dangerous.
Kudos for Ropati for standing his ground and also checking Clinton's state.

I remember seeing the hit on Brett Stewart and how his fingers were placed and people go on about it being a good hit but it just made me feel sick.
That's someone who's been seriously injured.

if this is a brut big hit on the donkey show then it needs to be renamed to the brut headclash

average hit, huge head clash, nothing more

To be fair the blood was probably from a high tackle he coped a few minutes before he got knocked out.

Clinton has checked out of hospital and is OK. Probably will play the next game in fact ... the week after next week's bye.

It was very disappointing to see that because Clinton has been playing really well and without Kenny, he's an important member of the forward pack.

To be fair, it was a full on frontal head clash. The back of Ropati's head cannoned off Clinton's face so hard you could hear the crack on the replay.

True, but Clinton had already been knocked out earlier in the game. I dont think Ive seen a person concussed as much as him in the past 18 months.
